Jayke Orvis
A native of Milwaukee, WI, Orvis has been setting and raising the bar for punks-turned-pickers ever since his days in .357 String Band -of which he is a founding and former member. Known for his lightning quick mandolin picking, he effortlessly infuses punk, rock, blues, gypsy, honky-tonk, bluegrass and old-time to develop a style all his own helping to define the sound of a genre while simultaneously, and gratifyingly, making it all that much more difficult to pin a name onto. After leaving Milwaukee in 2007 he relocated to Pittsburgh, PA where he now calls home, that is when he's not touring nearly full-time as mandolin and banjo player with The Goddamn Gallows, or for his own project Jayke Orvis & The Broken Band. As singer, instrumentalist, composer, and bandleader, Orvis relies on an impressive live lineup assembled for The Broken Band. http://www.reverbnation.com/jaykeorvis http://www.broken-band.com/ https://www.facebook.com/JaykeOrvisAndTheBrokenBand

Interview with High Valley
Alberta Country trio HIGH VALLEY is made up of brothers Brad, Bryan and Curtis Rempel. Their current album features the popular singles Let It Be Me, Have I Told You I Love You Lately & Love You For A Long Time. "It's not as pop as some contemporary country," says Brad of the High Valley sound. "Our music is a little more organic, a little more acoustic. We grew up singing harmony as a family and in church. There was always harmony and acoustic instruments, so our live show features a mandolin, an acoustic guitar, a bass guitar and three part harmony." The siblings grew up in Alberta on a farm in the rural community of La Crete. Life on their farm was dominated by faith, family, hard work and lots of Country music. "We always heard Diamond Rio and Ricky Skaggs growing up," says Bryan. "George Jones was played a lot too." High Valley has opened up shows for Brad Paisley, Keith Urban and Reba McEntire - and are about to open up shows for Little Big Town.
