    Managing Madrid Podcast: Season Recap

    in Soccer

Gabe Lezra, Josh Zeitlin and Bozz recap Real Madrid's disappointing 2014-2015 campaign, taking a look at each part of the team--from the underwhelming defense, to the sporadically brilliant midfield and forward lines. What went wrong for Real Madrid this year? What went right? Who is to blame? All this and more this week.

In addition, the guys take a bunch of listener questions and reflect on the state of the club going forward. Will Rafa Benitez be a good manager for the Whites? And what areas should Madrid target in the next transfer window?

And finally, they reflect on the recent FIFA implosion, with some appropriately vitriolic words for (now ex-!!!!) FIFA president Sepp Blatter.

Managing Madrid Podcast 2015-16 Episode 2

    in Soccer

It's part 2, and Gabe Lezra, Bozz and Mike Platania are back to break down everything that wasn't mentioned in the first preview episode! Gabe admits that he was a bit harsh on Rafa Benitez ¯\_(?)_/¯ in the first show--but he won't retract it!--and allows Bozz and Mike to push back on some of his criticism. That being said, the overwhelming negativity isn't entirely transformed into positivity, however, as the guys break down a bunch of Benitez's mis-steps, the De Gea fiasco, and Madrid's prospects moving forward.

Transitioning, the guys take a look at Madrid's 5-0 thrashing of Real Betis in the Bernabéu, praising James Rodriguez, Gareth Bale and the entire squad for looking very strong. Additionally, they get down and dirty talking about the strategy the club is taking, the transfer policy, and generally the ideas going into the club this season.

They end by taking your questions, breaking down many of the angles listeners brought up on Twitter and via email.

Shaping Special Hearts: Managing Behavior by Building Community

    in Religion

Host Katie Wetherbee and guest Sheri Halagan dive into the topic of managing behavior by building community. When we think of managing kids' behavior, often times we picture a sticker chart showing how kids followed directions, or a treasure box where children can go to get a treat for good behavior. As effective as these tools can be, though, you want volunteers and pastors to think more broadly about managing behavior.

Sheri Halagan has been an elementary teacher for 30 years and is currently teaching third grade at Gurney Elementary in Chagrin Falls.  She is currently working in her district as a Responsive Classroom trainer and works as a Consulting Teacher for the Center for Responsive Schools, training teachers in the summer.  Responsive Classroom is a set of social/academic strategies that center on creating positive and engaging learning communities within the classroom.  A focus on child development, proactive management, engaging learning activities and building positive classroom community through a number of classroom strategies help all children work to their potential. Sheri lives in Chagrin Falls with her husband Michael, where they enjoy outdoor activities, including lots of walking and gardening.

Katie is an educational consultant for Hope Educational Consulting who works with churches, families, and schools. She is also a writer; her articles have been featured on the MOPS and Power of Moms blogs as well as the Huffington Post and in KidzMatter Magazine. Katie is currently the special needs columnist for Children’s Ministry Magazine. In addition, she and author Jolene Philo are currently writing a book called Every Child Welcome, which will be published in April 2015. Katie and her husband, Tom, live in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, with their teenagers and a quirky mutt named Mitzie.

Needs Met Church - Meeting Needs & discussing hard topics - Sermon on Works

    in Religion

today, we will be discussing Works.

Not a popular subject, but one that we need to talk about. As usual, needs take center stage. If you have a need, or the ability to meet a need, let us knor at anytime by using our call in line, chat, or email. God meets needs, but he uses us to do the work.

    Needs Met is a Christian Non-profit 501c3 Ministry and Church that looks for needs in our community and meets those needs through others that want to help meet those needs. Needs can be most anyting like;

    food
    Jobs
    clothing
    household items
    furniture
    medical
    dental
services like BabySitting, Resumes, handman services etc...

God is our source for the meeting of needs, but God uses you and me to do His work.

If you have a need, please let us know and watch as God meets that need.
If you have the ability and desire to meet a need, God wants you! God can use you to meet the needs of others. But you have to let someone know that you are able and willing to meet needs. Offer up yor ability, resource, or talent that you have and watch as God uses it to help those in need.

TEEN TALK TUESDAY-DISCOVERING OUR DIFFERENT EMOTIONAL NEEDS

    in Education

Men and women need to remember that the emotional needs of the opposite sex are not the same as their own. Providing our partners with the wrong type of emotional needs will not be greatly appreciated.

Deep inside every man is a knight in shining armour seeking a damsel in distress who will love him, and shower him with trust, acceptance, appreciation, admiration, approval, and encouragement. Deep inside every woman is a damsel in distress seeking a knight in shining armour who will love her, and shower her with caring, understanding, respect, devotion, validation, and reassurance. Men must listen attentively to women to understand their needs, avoiding getting angry or defensive; women must have faith in men's abilities and best efforts to fulfill their needs, avoiding trying to change or control them.
