Author, entrepreneur, national media contributor, GMA host Tory Johnson joins me to celebrate her new book The Shift: How I Lost Weight and Finally Discovered a Happier Life, and her 62 pound weightloss story and breakthrough.
"I never thought I’d talk publicly about my battle with weight loss and how I overcame it. But millions of people watched my transformation on national TV every week, and viewers began to notice. Women on the street, in malls and in airports began to compliment me. I was flooded with emails and comments on Facebook and Twitter". The Shift is her answer to the thousands of women who have asked, “Tory, how’d you do it?”
Chef Mattocks visits The Wealthy Speaker Show with host Paul Lawrence Vann to share insight on healthy eating at its best!
His need to create meals that were tasty, nutritious and affordable led to his career as "The Poor Chef.” Appearances on The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Martha Stewart Show, CNN and The Dr. Oz Show gave him the opportunity to share what he had learned about feeding a family for less money. He became a sought-after guest on local and regional radio and television stations.
Then came devastating news. Charles Mattocks had type 2 diabetes. Reading all he could about the disease made him all too aware of how little he actually had known about diabetes. He was determined to save his life and knew he had to help others do the same.
The Diabetic You documentary, website and movement came out of that determination to educate and inspire people around the world. From nationwide appearances on radio and television, including CNN, to interviews with The Huffington Post, Diabetes Health and Forecast Diabetes and his blog on DoctorOz.com and more, the world is learning about Charles Mattocks' war against diabetes. He developed a diabetic-friendly, gluten-free treat called the Charles Bar that is in national distribution.
He is committed to providing free health testing for people from Orlando to Atlanta and beyond. His RV Testing Tour will appear at fairs, sporting events, malls and other venues. During a recent humanitarian trip to India, Mattocks helped test hundreds for diabetes.
A spokesperson for the American Diabetes Association, Chef Charles has been asked to write their next cookbook. A tireless advocate for diabetics everywhere, Charles Mattocks is determined to help stop the ravages of this deadly disease.

Indianapolis Ten Point Coalition is a faith-based organization comprised of Pastors, Ministers, Churches, and community leaders whose mission is to address critical issues and reduce violence in Greater Indianapolis and surrounding communities.
Since its inception in 1999, the Indianapolis Ten Point Coalition(ITPC) has been a significant partner with the city of Indianapolis in the fight against violent crime. In the mid-90s the city of Boston Massachusetts was struggling with gangs and violence. Led in large part by Rev. Eugene Rivers other clergy, the Boston Community came together to devise a comprehensive strategy to address their violence problem. The result of this strategy reduced violence by two-thirds among youth in one Boston Community and the Ten Point Coalition was born. In 1998 Rev. Rivers introduced this strategy, which was sometimes know as pulling levers and later “Cease Fire”, to the Indianapolis community. Rev. Charles Harrison and Rev. Clarence Moore along with other clergy embraced the program and the ITPC was born. In ITPC’s first year three high risk neighborhoods were targeted:UNWA, Mapleton-Fall Creek and Haughville.. As a result of the program homocides were reduced by 40% . In recent years ITPC has also seen success in the fight against violent crime. In 2009, the homicide rate fell to a comparatively low rate of 100. In 2010 the homicide rate fell to a 15 year low of 96. ITPC has been credited by the office of Public Safety, IMPD, and the Far Eastside Action Coalition (FEAC) as playing a significant role in preventing and reducing the numbers.

View this show on the CRE Radio website How can mall and shopping center landlords and tenants provide a safe and secure environment for shoppers, in light of the Oregon Mall and Newtown shootings? Our featured guests are Steve Jones, Co-CEO of Universal Protection Services and David Mistick of Circumspex, a noted author and expert on disaster preparedness.
Gentrification is the process of restoring run-down, delapidated areas in lower income neighborhoods by the middle class or higher. The projects always result i beautiful skyline apartment buildings, malls, business centers, etc., but the restored products are never offered first to the veteran residents who suffered through the delapidation with unanswered pleas to city officials for help and repairs.
Instead, these remodelers cause these long-term residents to be displaced from the place they called home for decades and almost always to a fraction of what they already have. Is this fair?

Tonight's special guest is Justin Smith from New jersey, a child abuse survivor who's found his healing through music. He calls himself "J.Mello" these days, but that wasn't always the case. In his own words, "I can't lie: my parents had money. But just because you grow up with money, doesn't mean life was all shopping malls and Tiffany and Co. China sets. Your parents can have millions in the bank, but that doesn't mean nothing if all you get for Christmas is ornament thrown at you and a Grinch for a father." He continues, "My mother and siblings knew what was going on, but as long as the credit card worked, they didn't wanna stop the Celebration. Growing up, I tried to forget about all this stuff, but it kept coming up. I lashed out a lot as a teenager - messed around with drugs, bounced in and out of juvenile homes, was homeless here and there. Hell, I even did a year and a half in jail." Justin reveals he'd "been sexually molested by nanny, handcuffed to a fence and beaten with a rock, over and over while my mother just watched. That’s when the music really took over my life and I realized that [music] was my therapy. See, music’s in my blood. My dad co-founded Kool and the Gang." Two of Justin's own tracks are “Torture” and “One More Try.” He concludes by asserting, "I hope to break the silence of those that have had similar experiences and let my album be an outlet for those who went through what I went through!" Gary Vaynerchuk gives us 15 minutes of his time in his #1aDayQandA initiative. He speaks about intuition, an attitude of gratitude, and how to just start failing in order to do Something Wonderful.
Meet Gary Vaynerchuk, a 36 year old New York Times and Wall Street Journal Best-Selling author who is also a self-trained wine and social media expert. At 8-years-old he was operating seven lemonade stands in his neighborhood and by 10 he had moved onto selling baseball cards at local malls. Gary started reading The Wine Spectator and wine books, and realized collecting wine offered an allure similar to his previous hobby of collecting baseball cards. With a wealth of knowledge and an entrepreneurial spirit, Gary spent every weekend of his college years at his parents’ wine store. Recognizing the importance of e-commerce in 1997, Gary launched Winelibrary.com and helped grow his family business significantly from $3 million to $45 million by 2005. Gary has appeared on countless programs from Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Conan O’Brien and Ellen to MSNBC, CNBC, CNN and NPR. Thanks to ThePhatStartup.com for putting me on to Gary!
His next book Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook: How To Tell Your Story In A Noisy World is due out October 2013.

0013 2012 Conservative Latino Talk Radio discusses the madness from politicos regarding violence in schools and none has the correct answer. The correct answer to the violence now and always has been "deterrent effect" which is presented by professional police officers and not by laws, cameras, locked doors or concealed handgun licenses. I am an expert in school security and I know that we need more police in and around the campuses of schools, shopping malls, churches, a
