Mary Lambert Nominated for a Grammy with Macklemore

    in Music

This is an encore replay of our interview with Mary Lambert a few months ago.  She was nominated for a Grammy Award last night is Los Angeles!  Congrats Mary!!

Mary Lambert is good at two things; crying and singing. Nowhere is this better reflected than on her debut EP ‘Letters Don’t Talk’ released in July of 2012.

As a performer, Lambert exemplifies the traditions of a singer/songwriter while melding a background in spoken-word. With the powerful body-image poem “I Know Girls (Body Love)” going viral on youtube, Letters firmly established Mary as a formidable unsigned artist. This status was cemented when the lesbian singer-songwriter paired up with the multi-platinum and VMA nominated Macklemore and Ryan Lewis to help write and sing their revolutionary single, “Same Love”.  The track, an honoring of gay marriage, has led Mary to tour nationally with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, and allowed her to reach millions by performing live on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, VH1, and The Colbert Report. “Same Love” has hit platinum in the US and is consistently rising in the charts, peaking at number 11 on Billboard.  It is no wonder that Mary has become one of the most talked about new artists.

Mary graduated from Cornish College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Composition. It was at Cornish that she honed her classical composition skills, including writing a full symphony piece for the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra. Although established as a bright modern composer, Mary’s songs are far from the pretension of academia.

Is Macklemore the 2nd Coming of MC Serch or 2nd Coming of Vanilla Ice ?

    in Culture

In less than 2 weeks Macklemore has gotten the whole rap world in a panic. If he's not being called a Grammy thief he's being called a wanna be rapper.

Will Macklemore's success put an end to the video hoe, the bling bling, the gold grill, and the Maybach ?

Will he go down in rap history like MC Serch from the group 3rd Bass or will he be a 21st century version of "Ice, Ice, Baby" ?

I can't wait to hear from you !!!

Mary Lambert WINS at VMA's with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

    in Music

THEY WIN!!!! Talked to Mary as she was just hopping a plane to head to the VMA's, it was awesome!!
Mary Lambert is good at two things; crying and singing. Nowhere is this better reflected than on her debut EP ‘Letters Don’t Talk’ released in July of 2012. Burrowed away with her friends in the woods of Sequim, Washington recording with the production team of Dungeness, she spent 2 years finessing the heartbreaking collection of songs. In ‘Letters Don’t Talk’, As a performer, Lambert exemplifies the traditions of a singer/songwriter while melding a background in spoken-word. With the powerful body-image poem “I Know Girls (Body Love)” going viral on youtube, Letters firmly established Mary as a formidable unsigned artist. The low down on the down low in hip hop! Gay agenda exposed .

    in Spirituality

In the body, a few years ago I received a vision leading me to study homosexuality and its roots being placed in the hip hop community. I did a vid on Youtube and many people doubted this would ever happen. This year a video went viral with 10-12 year old black boys battle rapping using gay sex lyrics. Then Macklemore does the Same Love song and states continue passing laws for gay marriage. Our brother in Christ Bizzle did a rebuttle in his song, Same Love Response, and he's received death threats for his speaking out on the truth about homosexuality. We are constantly seeing men becoming more feminine (Snoop getting acrylic nails and the men regularly wearing skirts and dresses) yet are also more aggressive or rather disrespectful towards [black] women in. We will look deeper into this tonight at 11 pm central. Join us and tell a friend.
