On today's show, we will be speaking to Athena Karkanis, better known as White House Chief of Staff, Vanessa Keller, on Lifetime Network's The Lottery.
Who would turn down the opportunity to instantly become a Multi-millionaire? You would think no one in their right mind, right? There was at least one multi-million dollar lottery winner that says he would have ripped up the ticket if he could have known how things would turn out. His is not the only tale of lottery winning sorrow. Yes, many big lottery winners have found themselves with a pile of money and just as much unhappiness. With all their financial problems solved why are these people unhappy? Maybe the Holy Scriptures will provide one or two clues as to why so many million dollar lottery winners are not made happy by their money.

Gerry in Piscataway joins Dave to chat NBA Playoffs, Tuesday's Draft Lottery, including the top 3 picks with bids for Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker and Joel Embid. Will the Lakers pull an improbable first pick of the draft? PLUS the latest from the Stanley Cup playoffs in the NHL. Kings defeat the Ducks in a moster Game 7 and battle the Blackhawks for the West title while the Rangers come back from a 3-1 deficit to beat the Penguins and also take the first two at Montreal in the East Final. We also have an update from the NBA playoffs where the Thunder are down to the Spurs and the Heat look to fight back from an opening game loss at the Pacers. Kevin on the Cape (scheduled) joins in Hour 2 for Random Questions on a special Tuesday show.
What are we going to say about Andrew Wiggins four or five years from now?
That was the question I was asked tonight on AM1280TheZone in Salt Lake City, and I prefaced my answer with a few words of caution -- keep as close of an eye on Jabari Parker of Duke as you do on young Mr. Wiggins from Kansas via Ontario. Parker may be the better prospect, even if my NBA draft writer has him slotted at No. 2 in our latest Mock Lottery.
More on the draft, the playoff faces in the West and East, and the possibility of Tom Izzo coaching the Pistons in this interview with Spence Checketts and Gordon Monson.
The NBA Draft Lottery is in the books, and the Philadelphia 76ers ended the night with the No. 3 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker and Joel Embiid are the consensus top 3, but which of these players is likely to wind up in Philly? On this episode, we'll answer that question as we get ready for the June 26 draft.
Later in the show, we'll tell you where the Eagles stand prior to OTAs, get you caught up on the latest news with the Phillies, and recap the past week in the world of sports as only we can. So come and take a ride on The Broad Street Line: The future of sports talk radio has finally arrived.
On this edition of The Broad Street Line, Brandon Pemberton of The Sports Chronicles Radio Network and the National Gridiron Network joins us to give you his thoughts on the 2014 NFL Draft. We'll also take a look ahead at the NBA Draft and tell you which players he thinks are destined for great things on the next level.
At the top of the show, we'll give you the 411 for Tuesday's NBA Draft Lottery. Andrew Wiggins may be at the top of most draft boards, but on The Broad Street Line, we'll explain that there are plenty of reasons to get excited, regardless of how the ping-pong balls bounce for the Philadelphia 76ers.
So, for all of that and more, come and take a ride on The Broad Street Line: The future of sports talk radio has finally arrived.
