Lesbian minister shifts from Fundamentalism to a religion that embraces all

    in Spirituality

Rev. Cynthia Andrews-Looper (“Pastor Cindy” as she is affectionately called by those who love her), is a native of Greenville, SC. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Masters in Ministry from Southern Wesleyan University.

In January 1996, after much soul-searching, she moved from Greenville, SC to Nashville, TN. In August of that same year, she started a Bible study that grew into what is today Holy Trinity Community Church, an open and affirming church of the United Church of Christ.

During the summer of 2014, while on a two month sabbatical, Pastor Cindy heard and followed God’s call to step down as Sr. Pastor of Holy Trinity and start a new ministry, Ignite Your Soul Now. She completed her ministry at Holy Trinity in October of this year. She is currently writing a book about her life story which she plans to title: TRUST GOD OR GO CRAZY, my journey from fundamentalist fear and insanity to hope and peace in Christ. This journey includes her call to ministry as a woman raised in a conservative Baptist church, the reconciliation of her faith and sexual orientation and amazing stories of God's faithfulness in the trying times of life.

Pastor Cindy’s personal encounters with God’s love are the fire that fuels her ministry. She says, “One day, in my early thirties, I came face to face in spirit with a holy God and found an unconditional love that changed me deeply and inspired me to share this hope with others. It is that passion to share God’s love that keeps me alive spiritually. We serve a God whose arms are open to anyone who will walk into them. I want individuals to find God’s loving embrace through my ministry. God is the Source of all that is. God is the Source of all abundance and love. God’s desire is that we live withf absolute love and complete abundance, instead of fear and lack. My message is one of hope, love and light.

    Guest:John Smart/Film Clearance/2 Guns/Looper/Don Jon

    in Movies

John Smart began working on feature film in the Art department while still in college at the University of New Mexico where he received a BFA in theater. After a number of years working on such films as The Big Easy, Heathers, and Barfly - he decided to teach in Los Angeles and at school for teens who’d gotten in trouble with drugs. He became known for bringing film industry professionals to the school as guest speakers and mentors. Establishing a relationship between the school and the local film and TV industry that lasted long after he was gone. When John returned to working on films he dove into legal clearances. He’s worked on a long list of projects including: The Good Lie, Don Jon, 2 Guns, Shopgirl, The Hot Flashes, Linsanity, Looper, Bullet To The Head and approximately 60 other films, TV shows and DVD games. He loves clearances because he can both assist in legally getting a production difficult items they may want or need for a project - but more importantly a Clearance administrator is one of the last firewalls a production has avoid legal action - and a copyright infringement claim can be lethal for a film. You can email your questions to 123filmeasy@gmail.Follow us on Twitter @123Film

Tom Ufert Live Presents: Tom's Take - Interview with Pastor Cyd

    in LGBT

This is not a “Blue” or “Red” program.  This is an independent program designed to convey informative opinions for the sole purpose of broadening minds,  challenging pre-conceptions and inviting a vibrant discourse in the vein of a marketplace of ideas.  All participants and listeners are put on notice that this is a venue dedicated to mutual respect.  In the end, regardless of individual opinions, everyone is bound by one simple rule…acceptance of the concept that we must respect each other while agreeing to disagree.

Every reasonable attempt will be made to convey factual and verifiable information.  This is not the place for outlandish claims or personal attacks. While questions or subjects of discussion may very well be controversial, provocative and indeed “in your face,” guests and listeners can be assured that “gotcha” moments are unintended.

On this episode of Tom's Take with Host Tom Ufert will be a very powerful interview with Pastor Cyd.
