AreYouScreening.com host and BFCA film critic, Marc Eastman, and co-host extraordinaire, Shane Leonard, review Looper.
We're finally really excited for a movie, and it doesn't look like this one is going to let us down.
We'll also be playing some interview clips with Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Director Rian Johnson.
This is not a “Blue” or “Red” program. This is an independent program designed to convey informative opinions for the sole purpose of broadening minds, challenging pre-conceptions and inviting a vibrant discourse in the vein of a marketplace of ideas. All participants and listeners are put on notice that this is a venue dedicated to mutual respect. In the end, regardless of individual opinions, everyone is bound by one simple rule…acceptance of the concept that we must respect each other while agreeing to disagree.
Every reasonable attempt will be made to convey factual and verifiable information. This is not the place for outlandish claims or personal attacks. While questions or subjects of discussion may very well be controversial, provocative and indeed “in your face,” guests and listeners can be assured that “gotcha” moments are unintended.
On this episode of Tom's Take with Host Tom Ufert will be a very powerful interview with Pastor Cyd.
Rev. Cynthia Andrews-Looper (“Pastor Cindy” as she is affectionately called by those who love her), is a native of Greenville, SC. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Masters in Ministry from Southern Wesleyan University. Pastor Cindy’s personal encounters with God’s love are the fire that fuels her ministry. She says, “One day, in my early thirties, I came face to face in spirit with a holy God and found an unconditional love that changed me deeply and inspired me to share this hope with others. It is that passion to share God’s love that keeps me alive spiritually. We serve a God whose arms are open to anyone who will walk into them. I want individuals to find God’s loving embrace through my ministry.
John Smart began working on feature film in the Art department while still in college at the University of New Mexico where he received a BFA in theater. After a number of years working on such films as The Big Easy, Heathers, and Barfly - he decided to teach in Los Angeles and at school for teens who’d gotten in trouble with drugs. He became known for bringing film industry professionals to the school as guest speakers and mentors. Establishing a relationship between the school and the local film and TV industry that lasted long after he was gone. When John returned to working on films he dove into legal clearances. He’s worked on a long list of projects including: The Good Lie, Don Jon, 2 Guns, Shopgirl, The Hot Flashes, Linsanity, Looper, Bullet To The Head and approximately 60 other films, TV shows and DVD games. He loves clearances because he can both assist in legally getting a production difficult items they may want or need for a project - but more importantly a Clearance administrator is one of the last firewalls a production has avoid legal action - and a copyright infringement claim can be lethal for a film. Join Dennis and I as we talk to a GREAT singer and songwriter along with MANY other talents also owning his own record label O Town Music Group!!!
Blending elements of neo- soul, old-time blues and folk, Lee has the guts of Ray LaMontagne and the soul of Marvin Gaye.
This guitar slinging aficionado has the street smarts of an urban swinger and the heart-bending soul of a gospel preacher, and is adept at blending a dark, bluesy Americana vibe with warm, acoustic soul where bits of old folk music and flamenco tunes swirl in and out of earshot.
Lee was born in Nashville and grew up in Florida where he captivated fans with his solo performances utilizing a looper and effects on his acoustic guitar. His High energy performances gained him notability.
Lee then formed a band in 2012 adding a horn and rhythm section to give his music more depth.
Lee self released his album ‘A Fiction,’ in the Summer of 2013. Being driven by Lee through his confessional lyrics, grandiose production values and virtuosic musical interplay, it lead Lee to go on to sign a record deal later that year. Lee is currently in the studio working on his debut studio album among several other side projects.
“Lee Tayler is producing material that is unlike any other singer songwriters – and consequently is beyond genre definition. Largely, it is one man and his faithful guitar – but with a voice like his, there really is no need for any other instrumentation. In truth it would only get in the way.”
