A cold December day. A mystery unfolds. Thirty-nine year old Julie Kroll stumbles away from a minor car accident, leaving behind her eight year old daughter...and an open container of alcohol. As darkness descends, she disappears.
This is the opening of Lipstick & Liquor, a documentary which explores the rise in alcoholism amongst women. As Julie's story unfolds, the film introduces us to four women who tell their recovery story. Lipstick & Liquor seeks to shake off the stigma associated with women alcoholics and to provide understanding and insight into the effort to stay sober.
Join us on this episode for a discussion with the director of Lipstick & Liquor, Lori Butterfield, an Emmy Award-winning producer, director and writer, as she shares about the making of the movie and her journey in understanding the disease of alcoholism and the stigma around it.

This new legislation was signed into law on August 24, 2015. In this podcast, attorney Kelly Anderson will explain the specifics of this new legislation.

I know how to handle handle my liquor but tonight Amarretto, Whiskey Sour, Mai Tai and Ciroc were all calling my name. Tonight I wanted to let loose, dance my pain away and fuck somebody new. Far away from home, the inner freak was coming out; she was desperate to escape her normal day to day.

Over the past few years, exceptional distilled spirits have become something of a fashion across the world, as more refined and educated palates have begun treating fine liquors as fashionable pursuits. And certainly one of the most surprising developments has been the growing popularity of a distinctly American liquor: Bourbon. Long viewed as a drink of "bad man," Bourbon has become the drink of choice for men and women, young and old. But very few people have a sense of the history of Bourbon, or the variety of different brands and blends that are available today. And because we can, we are going to tell you all about it.
Whatever your preferences In liquor, you're probably going to enjoy the subject of this week's Military Monday (#MilitaryMonday on the Writestream Radio Network (@Writestream)). Author, historian, journalist, documentary filmmaker, and host John D. Gresham (@greshamj01) has invited Zenith Press author Fred Minnick (@FredMinnick) to discuss his new book, BOUBON CUTIOUS. Designed as a tasting guide for those genuinely intrigued by the spirit, BOURBON CURIOUSis a compendium of some of the greatest Bourbons ever created, from distilleries all over the country. And if you're wondering what this has to do with the military, our usual topic on Military Monday, the answer is, absolutely nothing! We just happen to like bourbon, and it's our show. So join us and enjoy…
