There is an international movement called life long learning. Most people think of learning as traditional K-12programs, college, or universities. There are many other ways knowledge and skills are learned. Adults become proficient and gain expertise daily in specific areas of interest without ever attending traditional institututions. As we begin t consciously and intentionally begin to view ourselves as life long learners, of confidence increases, our world view broadens, and we become generally happier individuals. Join us as we explore what life long learning is, who life long learners are, and where life long learners go to learn and grow.

Learning Life Lessons With Your Pet © Judy Helm Wright wwww.AnimalHumanConnection.com
Our family used to think we needed to focus on teaching and training our pets. Actually, it was the other way around. While we were concerned that they know about “sit” “shake hands” and “fetch” they already knew all the important stuff in life like loyalty, kindness and love. We were blessed with the animal wisdom they shared with us
This week we will focus on relationships:
Protect your loved ones
Be loyal to your pack members
After a conflict, shake it off and let it go
Say what you mean, mean what you say, but don’t say it in a mean way
Sometimes the best idea when it gets stressful is to close your eyes and ignore it
Love unconditionally without expecting anything in return
Don’t keep score of who does what for whom. You make the first move
Be open to being loved & accepted. Why wouldn’t someone like you?
Enjoy compliments and pats on the back
Greet your family with the same excitement I greet you.
Watch for non-verbal cues to gauge the character of visitors
If someone is mean to animals, they are not worth associating with
Understand the true value of a good friend. Friendship is the basis for all relationships
When someone is having a bad day, just sit close by quietly and listen
Be kind to those who may never have a treat for you
Never, ever lie or be unfaithful to those who love and trust you

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
To kick off our first show of 2016, we talk about the results of a 75-year study on — what else? — the key to finding lasting happiness in life. Doing this ONE thing in your life can not only make you happier but healthier and, as a result, more likely to live longer. It's like tapping your own personal Fountain of Youth everyday...and here's a hint: it has nothing to do with going to the gym!
Then, we take a question from a listener who's feeling torn — should she take a year off from work and travel, or is it too late for a little adventure?
Have any career or money questions to help you ensure a prosperous new year? We'd love to hear from you! Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or join the BA Fam on Facebook and Twitter.

Kevn takes the long view of Indigenous life on Earth, discussing science, language, politics, spirituality and many other topics.
This time of year I personally spend a lot of time thinking about my
year in review. What mistakes did I make, what's goals did I set for
myself and did not accomplish, and also simply how can I go into
the new year being better than I was the year before.
Am I the only one that does this? I seriously doubt it.
With that said if you could write out your next year, or even better
if you could go back and write out your some of your beginnings
would you do it and also how effective do you think it would be?
