On the heels of the Ferguson verdict this is the hot debate in the Black Community. Black Friday is one of the biggest shopping days of the year and can make or break many retailers. In protest many Black consumers have decided to boycott Black Friday to show the power of the Black Dollar. I have expressed my opinion here Why I do NOT think Blacks should boycott Black Friday, but I want to hear from you. Let's talk about it.

If ever there were a perfect time or place to discuss the ongoing matter of the Mike Brown case, this is the perfect place. LIVE onight before we bring in the Thanksgiving holiday, we discuss amongst our fam and open the lines up for listeners to call in and discuss the effect and opinions on the entire Mike Brown situation. There is no conversation like "A Black Top Conversation"
Bill has been rather vocal related to Black people in america and what ails us, he has been held up by white america for the things he has said, denigrating and putting down the people who supported him to the place he sits. Still He is a Black man, does he not deserve our support?
Why suddenly the witch hunt, why has white america chosen THIS time to bring this forward, is it Distraction from the Mike Brown case??
How about the OJs and Bill Cosbys that have seemingly abandon their own once they sat at the table of whites, do these people still deserve our support or do we let them get chewed up by the master they snuggled beneath?
This is an interview I gave to Lewis Harrison for WIOX Radio on 91.3FM in New York on Nov 20th 2014.

Book Discussion welcomes Dr. Glenn Parrish the author of The Renaissance of Aspirin. This is the story of Anita Thomas and Jack Wheaton, two young doctors unwittingly in possession of a designer antibody for the treatment of fibromyalgia syndrome. The new drug is effective, but dangerously flawed. The problem is Anita Thomas has developed a cheap, safe alternative agent. Naturally, after expenditure of a fortune in development, the drug manufactures are not at all pleased with her. The pieces unfold, as we follow Anita and Jack from beautiful upscale midtown to the seedier downtown counterparts of Boston and Atlanta over shadowed by deadly stalkers and embellished by amorous often comically frustrating misadventures. The Renaissance of Aspirin is peppered with industrial espionage, suspense and passion as the chase is on for the first cure for fibromyalgia. Entangled with colorful comrades such as Dasher Clay; Stormi Seales and Khandi Barr in their camp, Anita and Jack barely keep ahead of the treacherous cabal of nemeses; Luciana Velasquez and Jason Brasil led by the Über-villain, Orson Quirk. Paced in the tradition of The Pelican Brief, Coma or a contemporary Maltese Falcon, The Renaissance of Aspirin is both plot and character driven with a ly credible McGuffin at its core. These complex characters are funny, mean, desperate, lonely and at the same time very humanly imperfect. Readers will find their prickly exploits thoroughly entertaining. Dr. Parrish will discuss his novel and explain Fibromyalgia to our audience. Please join me at four eastern, three central and two mountain. I am your host Fran Lewis editor of MJ magazine.

Ish just got real. This week the Black Geeks review the 3rd installment in The Hunger Games franchise, "Mockingjay - Part 1", directed by Francis Lawrence. It's all out war for Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss Everdeen as she becomes the official symbol of the Districts' rebellion against The Capitol. Featuring a very strong supporting cast, including the late, great Philip Seymour Hoffman, Mockingjay-Part 1 is a bona fide action flick replete with explosions, psuedo-military combat jargon, and a very high body count. Tune in today at 3:30 and find out if this is worth your $16 or you should wait till it's streaming on Netflix in 3 months.

L.A. Lewis, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is the author of Dirty Little Secrets and Dirty Little Secrets II: Expect the Unexpected. She’s a member of an author support group called M-LAS (Macro Literary All-Stars). Together the group published two books: Baring it All: The Ins and Outs of Publishing, a nonfiction book most authors wished they had before they took a bite of the publishing apple. They’ve also published a romance anthology, Signed, Sealed, Delivered…I’m Yours. These are nine stories that are a little bit naughty and a little bit nice, but every bit of enjoyable.
She’s currently working on her 3rd novel Wife Swap and expanding her romance from the M-LAS anthology, which is currently under consideration from a major publishing house. L.A. Lewis recently took on a new venture and became a publishing consultant. This way she’s able to help guide other authors into seeing their dreams of being published become a reality. L.A. Lewis is also a motivational speaker where she speaks from her inspirational book, Why Not Me? A Guide to Your Success. Visit www.lalewisexpressions.com to learn more about L.A. Lewis and her upcoming novels and events.
