TEXAS VS. THE NATION INVITE
At 6’3 and 315-pounds is a road grinder who helped the YSU offense dominates the Missouri Valley Football Conference in 2011. Mady started all 11 games last year his first with the Penguins who previously played at Butler County Community College in Kansas. The most impressive aspect of Mady’s quick transition from one school to another is he did not allow a sack on any quarterback pressures. Part of a unit that averaged a school-record 36.2 points per game and had a school-best 458.6 total offensive yards per game, while distributing the ball exceptionally well with 231.1 rushing and 227.5 passing, show’s that Mady and his teammates are capable blockers in either category.

For reigning Conflict Lightweight champ Lamar Brown (5-0) out of American Top Team, this fight Feb 21 at Conflict 24 is a culmination of several factors. Defending the championship fuels Brown, as does his desire to continue to grow and move to the pro ranks. Whether he does turn pro after this title fight or not, the undefeated Lightweight has spoken that his full focus is set of defending his title. With unending cardio, good movement, solid striking, and a pro level grappling game, Lamar Brown is unquestionably one of the most dangerous fighters in the South.
He recently let his intentions for February be known:
“Getting in there and getting right after Kobe Wall. Proving I’m the Best up and coming lightweight in the Southeast is what this is all about for me. I go to war February 21st.”
For this episode, we talk a little about Kendrick Lamar's "To Pimp A Butterfly," what it means for hip hop in general, what New York thought of it, and why some people need to shut up about how great it might be.
We also have a talk with DC3 of Long Island's Central Station, who has been running a series called the I Am Strong Island Concert Series, highlighting talent from the sixth borough. He'll share his thoughts about the state of Long Island rap, as well as some thoughts about why New York still doesn't get the industry shine.
All that, other interesting things going on and your calls, on this episode of The NY Hip Hop Report.

On this week’s edition of Scottscope Talk Radio, the roundtable reviews Kendrick Lamar’s third album, ‘To Pimp a Butterfly.’ Is it the album of the year? Has Kendrick set an impossibly high bar that his peers can never hope to reach? Is it a genre bending masterpiece, or is it woefully overrated? Are people judging the album based solely on its own merits? Does the largely positive response to this album signal a new direction for mainstream rap music? Why do people insist on drawing comparisons between K-Dot and Drake?
We’ll also be having yet another of our penchant freestyle sessions! Any and every topic will be up for debate and discussion. Is Damon Dash a misunderstood visionary, or a snake oil selling windbag? Have we truly seen the last of Suge Knight? Will the live-action Attack on Titan films be as good as either the manga or the anime? Are superhero comics hopelessly sexist and misogynistic? How many of the aforementioned topics will we be able to discuss in the space of 120 minutes? Tune in to find out!
