February 7 - Multi-Instrumentalist/Composer/Producer - Shaun Labelle
Shaun isn’t your typical jazz artist. And, no, he is not related to Patti. He is, however, the son of Larry LaBelle - legendary TV producer on hit shows such as the Milton Berle show.
Shaun is a multi-instrumentalist in bass, drums, keyboards and guitar and is a multi-top ten writer with a number one hit in Europe with Warner Bros Pop R&B artist Shola Ama.
Shaun is back with a new CD titled, "Desert Nights", featuring the likes Jeff Lorber, Everette Harp, and Stokley Williams.

We are so happy and very happy to be able to present this show. The legendary Sarah Dash is one of the founding members of the group Patti Labelle and The Bluebelles. The group was very successful with songs such as "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and "I Sold My Heart To The Junkman". Eventually the group decided to change their image and their sound and became the legendary group known as Labelle featuring Patti Labelle, Sarah Dash, and Nona Hendryx and created such notable hits as "Lady Marmelade" "What Can I Do For You" "Get You Somebody New" and more. The ladies eventually parted ways and Ms. Dash recorded with other legends but had some notable solo hits such as "Sinner Man" in 1978. She continues to sing and has some amazing songs she created with family as well as gospel hits. She is an extraordinary talent and a wonderfully gracious woman. Tune in and show your love for Ms. Sarah Dash.

After writing hits for such artists as Patti LaBelle, Tom Jones, Chante Moore and Stephanie Mills, Carol Duboc began sharing her own musical heart in a more powerful and intimate way, launching her career as a contemporary jazz artist. Since the 2001 release of her critically-acclaimed debut, “With All That I Am,” the multi-talented vocalist, songwriter and producer has carved out a unique niche sharing deeply-felt original songs that are all at once beautifully stylish and lyrically direct and insightful. Former Los Angeles Times jazz critic Don Heckman captured the sultry singer’s magical essence perfectly when he wrote, “The keenly imaginative (Duboc) is one of the most interesting and dynamic jazz singers of her generation.”
“Colored Glasses,” Duboc’s latest full-length Gold Note Music recording, is the perfect follow-up to her revealing and very personal 2013 release, “Smile,” whose single “Elephant” rose to No. 2 on the Groove Jazz Music chart and No. 28 on the Billboard tally. While the songs on “Smile” were inspired by the steep challenges and wonderful joys of keeping a long-term relationship afloat, “Colored Glasses” expands the emotional landscape to encompass the aftermath of a difficult breakup, where the heart knows it must let go and move on, but is continually drawn back to the person it can’t stop loving. Written during an intense period of adjustment during which Duboc assumed the role of a single parent to her eight year-old daughter, the songs on the ten-track collection reflect on all the residual emotions inherent in such a transition. They’re about hopes and dreams fostered and dashed, lush fantasies tempered by sobering realities and moments of clarity amidst whirlwinds of doubt.
