For 35 years, Jack Armstrong has been receiving and transcribing spiritual teachings through a form of channeling known as Inner Dictation, which is the same phenomenon through which A Course in Miracles was received.
For most of that time, he had no idea what was happening or why, and he was afraid to tell anyone else about it. But five years ago he began sharing this wisdom with the world for the first time through the publication of his book, Lessons from the Source: A Spiritual Guidebook for Navigating Life’s Journey.
Jack still is in awe of the process through which he receives this material, and he sees it as an example of the access we all have to creative expression.
Jack Armstrong is an explorer on the spiritual path whose life’s journey has included stops as a nonprofit executive, Peace Corps volunteer, congressional candidate, small business owner, actor, voiceover artist, and hospice volunteer.
For 35 years, he has been a reluctant, yet willing, conduit for receiving and transcribing the spiritual wisdom he began to share in his book, Lessons from the Source. During that time, he has accumulated more than 350,000 words of remarkable spiritual teachings, most of which he has kept to completely to himself, but which he soon will begin sharing with the world. Jack lives in Portland, Oregon, and strives to practice the lessons he has received.
My guest on today's show is Kristin Kuhns Alexandre, the creator of the television series Gem City based on her graphic novel Nuncio and the Gypsy Girl in the Gilded Age
She will join us to chat about that as well as her new novel Gem City Gypsy.
The period between post-adolescence and adulthood – that time known as “coming of age” – can often be painful and confusing. For Neci Stans, a 19-year-old gypsy girl in pre-World War I Dayton, Ohio, the stakes are raised as she experiences first-hand an historic tragedy at sea and deadly bigotry at home.
In Kristin Kuhns Alexandre’s new novel GEM CITY GYPSY, Neci’s harrowing journey of self-discovery includes surviving the sinking of the Lusitania, witnessing the brutal murder of her master and mentor Lord Pool and facing down the ever-menacing Ku Klux Klan.
Since the end of the Cold War, the United States has staggered from crisis to crisis, seemingly with no plan on how to exist and prosper in the 21st century. Many see America's disorganized stumbling into the new millennium, as being caused by the absence of a genuine national strategy. The U.S. Cold War strategy of containment of the Soviet Union and Communist bloc may have been heavy-handed and obvious, but it worked. This is in stark contrast to America's national strategies of the 20th century.
Over a century ago, a visionary naval officer and author, Capt. Alfred Thayer Mahan, USN, wrote the first great American book on strategy, The Influence of Seapower Upon History. The book, which became a runaway international bestseller, laid out the tenets of modern seapower based upon historic case studies and a far-reaching look to the future of navies. Politicians and military professionals, from Theodore Roosevelt in the U.S., to Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany, used Mahan's book as a roadmap to create navies and strategies of their nown. A century later, it is perhaps time that we go back and give Mahan another look.
To better understand America's need for a national strategy, and how the ideas of Alfred Thayer Mahan might guide us towards such a strategy, join military historian, author and journalist John D. Gresham for Military Monday at 1 p.m. Eastern. His guest this week will be U.S. Naval Institute Press author and naval officer Lieut. Cmdr. Benjamin F. Armstrong, USN. Lieut. Cmdr. Armstrong is the author of the book, 21st Century Mahan, which explores how. Mahan's ideas might help America find its way in the 21st century. Listeners are encouraged to call in, and offer questions and opinions to Mr. Gresham and Lieut. Cmdr. Armstrong. This will be a lively and interesting hour, offering genuine insights into America's future in the years ahead.
Zora Neale Hurston was quoted as saying, "Love, I find, is like singing." And if that is the case, then Finesse has a very lovely voice. Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, with a love of writing since the age of thirteen, Finesse has always utilized her talents and skills with a pen and the gift of words to create stories and literary artistry. Now living in Atlanta, Georgia, Finesse continues to cultivate her skills by writing short stories, poetry, and is in the process of writing her first book. Now following in the footsteps of brilliant African American Female writers such as Zora Neale Hurston, Toni Morrison, and Maya Angelou, Finesse is preparing to share with the world her style of adult romance novels which will take you on a whirlwind tour of love and sensuality with the realness that evokes a myriad of vivid emotions and creative vision.A naturally gifted, passionate, and poetic soul, even when Finesse speaks it's with a flow that doesn't need a beat in order feel the power of her words. A loving mother of three children, Finesse works hard to provide for her family a loving environment that is forever growing and maturing with experiences. These experiences inspire her in ways that mirror sculptors carving master pieces out of lifeless stone. She is serious about her work and her art and it shows in every word, sentence, and paragraph.
D Hunter Books is a Limited Liability Corporation that I have built from the ground up in a effort to solidify my dreams. It is this accomplishment/achievement that I intend to use as a forum for all of those lost inside of their own personal struggles, trapped inside of circumstances, or left feeling without hope. In REAL LIFE, nothing ever portray the visuals that Warner Brothers displays to capture our imagination.
I am a realist, with broad views that I would like to share with those who have an ear to hear, and the courage to adhere. It is my intent to not only open certain awareness, but to also serve a cause in the evolution of time, and mankind. At one point or another we must all come together to serve to be a reason for someone else, or of our own cause...to be the master of your own destiny. I welcome all to leave your rose colored glasses at the door, and step into the untampered realm of your inner inhibitions as we journey through this reinvention of Life together.

The War on Terror has been viewed by many as a "Crusade," to use a term George Bush did early on. This phrase has a very specific historical meaning that perhaps he did not appreciate. The Crusades were a series of bloody religious wars that in the end did not settle the question of whether Christianity or Islam would dominate in the world, which was the original goal. Are we fighting a Holy War? Many people in the West think so, but few have taken the time to study the religion in any depth. Like Christians, Muslims hold a wide variety of views on fundamental questions addressed in their holy literature. If we do not want to see our children live through a generation of endless and ultimately pointless war, it behooves us to learn to understand one another.Paul Armstrong is a Muslim convert in London who is very actively pursuing interfaith understanding and peace efforts. Co-Director of the Association of British Muslims and Director of Kilafah Online, he is a scholar of Christianity as well as Islam, so provides a unique insight into the relations between the two. This show was rebroadcast on August 3 at 9 AM PST/ 12 PM EST on the Star Com Radio network.Take Back America for the People is an educational nonprofit whose mission is to educate the American public on true costs of corporate control of the US government.Know the truth and the truth will set us free.
