The Los Angeles Lakers are off to their worst start in franchise history starting the 2014-15 season at 1-9. Kobe Bryant, who returned this season from injuries that kept him out for the majority of last season, has performed mightily but is in a situation nowhere close to warranting any success in these final years of his career.
Martin offers a fresh perspective and new theory on what Kobe might consider should he hit the wall and say enough is enough. Journalists and media (and Tyler, who said back in August that the Lakers ought to send Kobe over to the New York Knicks) like to speculate the trade possibilities involving Bryant, but the loyalty between the Lakers and Kobe is paramount. At this rate, it is perfectly clear that his NBA career will end in a Laker uniform.
But what if Kobe didn't end his career in the NBA? Take a listen to Martin's theory. Tweet us @BBallsociety_ or Martin @marley_mcfly on Twitter and gives us your thoughts.
Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers are used to contending for championships, but through five games the team is tied with the Philadelphia 76ers (0-6) for the fewest wins in the league -- zero.
Bryant’s disdain for losing and the struggles of the Lakers prompted an interesting question: Would the Lakers and Knicks benefit from a trade involving Bryant?
New York has Phil Jackson, the Triangle offense and cap space to absorb Bryant’s contract and the Lakers aren’t going to contend this season with or without the team’s longtime superstar.
Conversely, the Houston Rockets were undefeated until Saturday night after some experts believed the team would take a step back with the loss of Chandler Parsons and free agency addition of Trevor Ariza.
In the Eastern Conference, the Cleveland Cavaliers have gotten off to a slow start (2-3) and not dominated out of the gate as many predicted.
With that in mind, Michael Scotto of SheridanHoops joined Yahoo! Sports Radio to discuss the struggles of the Lakers and Cavaliers, the rumors surrounding Bryant and how James Harden and Dwight Howard have carried the Rockets.
Tonight we go over a couple of the more interesting stories in the NBA, starting with Derrick Rose's health and Kobe Bryant's level of play over the first few weeks of the season. In coollege basketball, numerous interesting games took place today, with the Champions Classic featuring Duke-Michigan State and Kentucky-Kansas.
We'll recap those two games, talk a little about each of those four teams and run through some of the other top-25 games in college basketball. Can Wichita State win another 35-plus games this season?
Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Alex Rodriguez, oh my. Life as a superstar isn't always that rosy and for those 3 superstars of their respective sports, these days aren't very rosy. The Black Mamba and his Los Angeles Lakers are 0-5 to begin the season Lebron and his Cleveland Cavaliers are 1-3 so far. ARod took his disgraced career to the next level by admitting the obvious. What's next? A plane flying overhead with a sign that says, "Fire John Idzik"? Oh wait, that actually happened, too. The core show panelists are going to try to put all of this craziness into some kind of perspective. Enjoy!
The Los Angeles Lakers regular season hasn't even begun and there's already controversy and it's regarding Kobe Bryant. So, what else is new? The Core Show panelists will discuss this and get to the bottom of the motive behind the article and why Kobe is only part of the problem. Oh yeah, we'll have week 8 of the NFL, week 9 of college, the 2014 MLB World Series, the Homer Report and much, much more. Diehards unite!
The topic of Henry Abbott's piece regarding Kobe Bryant and what he has done for the Lakers today and the Lakers two and three years down the road has been a heated one the last few days. I'll weigh in on that, as well as giving my take on the rest of the Coaches Poll that came out in college basketball roughly a week ago. I went over Villanova, Arizona, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Duke in my first show regarding the poll, and today, I'll go over the rest of the top-25.

Lakers Star Player Kobe Bryant has professed his unfavorable sentiments in regards to the African American support of Trayvon Martin who was murdered while walking home from a neighborhood store. While many people, especially African Americans, were in support of Martin’s killer ( Zimmerman) being convicted, Bryant declared “I won’t react to something just because I’m supposed to, because I’m an African-American,”. He shared these thoughts in regards to the Championship winning Miami Heat team’s famous hoodie photo in support of Trayvon Martin.

When you are a coach that wants to build on the future of USA Soccer and you want to validate the fact that you do not want to put too many old players on the starting lineup; you need to find an example of your logic that everyone can agree to. Juergen Klinsman rhetoric was not bold or quite over the top. Juergen Klinsman argument was to explain his reasoning behind Landon Donovan's omission from the US World Cup roster. But as Lloyd Benson once said to Dan Quayle, "Mr. Klinsman I know Kobe Bryant I am a Diehard Lakers fan and I know Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest basketball players of all time. YO MR. Juergen, Landon Donovan is NO KOBE BRYANT!!!!
