Beyond the Airwaves Episode #103 -- Euthanasia: Whose Decision Should It Be?

    in Entertainment

This is Beyond the Airwaves: The Infinity Project, where we go beyond the mainstream media and tackle issues that don't seem so important to the major networks.

29-year-old Brittany Maynard had stage four brain cancer and knew she had only months to live. Going to Oregon with its Death by Dignity Law, she made a decision to end her own life, which ignited the right-to-die debate. She officially ended her life on November 1st as the pain became too great for her. The big question that does come to mind: When someone is facing terminal illness and knows he/she doesn't have long to live, should he/she have the right to choose to die by suicide, like when Dr. Jack Kevorkian assisted those who wanted to die back in the 1990s. We'll talk about this very sensitive issue for the whole hour.

Ikari Chaos-San is the founder and creator. Shirley is truly the Oddball Extreme. Janet is our resident Arizona Magician. Heather is Queen Kitty Serenity. Mike the King of Hearts is our video game wizard. We'll also have guest appearances by our friends from the MAD HOUSE, so come and listen in!

Visit our official website at http://beyondtheairwaves.weebly.com and don't forget to join in the conversation on the forums located on our official website. We want you guys and gals, the fans, to tell us what's on your mind and what you feel is important to cover, so let us know what you want to hear.

    in Education

Dr. Martin Kevorkian returns to The Context of White Supremacy. Dr. Kevorkian is an English professor at the University of Texas (Austin) and author of Color Monitors: The Black Face of Technology in America. We'll seek Dr. Kevorkian's expertise on the following four films: Astro Boy (2009), Nothing But A Man (1964), Solo (1996), and Splice (2009). In addition to evidencing the ever-present nature of White Supremacy, these films highlight White people's tendency to create monsters & monstrosities that disappoint their expectations and/or subvert their authority. We'll see if these works match Dr. Kevorkian's theory that White Supremacists often represent non-white people as machines/robots in their

Demise of “Dr. Death” Kevorkian & Meaning of Life

    in Politics

With the death last week of Jack “Dr. Death” Kevorkian, famed medical practitioner and suicide hobbyist, we have an opportunity to contrast our culture’s values against its classic sources. More pointedly, in examining the doctor’s life and values, we ought to ask a tough question. That is, whether, when Kevorkian was being allowed to help those wanting suicide , if that better reveals our convictions than our supposed religion? Sadly, the answer may be, “yes.” But there are strong reasons why his ideas will always lead to tragic outcomes. For example, such a blasé’ attitude towards life explains why our society throws babies away like garbage in the name of “family planning.” So maybe this is who we really are, deep down—a Kevorkian Nation, unified together in the name of convenience? This is the topic of today’s essay.

The C.O.W.S. w/ Dr. Martin Kevorkian Part VI

    in Education

Dr. Martin Kevorkian returns to The Context of White Supremacy. Dr. Kevorkian and Gus will discourse on one of greatest novels of the twentieth century, Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man. "You cannot see or hear or smell the truth of what you see - and you, looking for destiny! It's classic! And the boy, this automaton, he was made of the very mud of the region and he sees far less than you. Poor stumblers, neither of you can see the other. To you he is a mark on the score-card of your achievement, a thing and not a man; a child, or even less - a black amorphous thing. And you, for all your power, are not a man to him, but a God, a force... He believes in you as he believes in the beat of his heart. He believes in that great false wisdom taught slaves and pragmatists alike, that white is right. I can tell you his destiny. He'll do your bidding, and for that his blindness is his chief asset. He's your man, friend. Your man and your destiny. Now the two of you descend the stairs into chaos and get the hell out of here. I'm sick of both of you pitiful obscenities! Get out before I do you both the favor of bashing in your heads!"
