Born April 3rd, 1979 in Jacksonville North Carolina, Ira Parker was often misunderstood by family members, friends and classmates. His elementary school teachers learned of his unusual patterns of processing information and his struggle to stay focused. His variations compared to others quickly became the birth of an outcast. Growing up, Ira quickly became magnetized to music and electronic devices. . His ear for creating music production was astonishing with mind blowing detail. Ed Parker Jr. grew up among the stars. His father, "Founder of American Kenpo", Ed Parker Sr, was the martial arts teacher to celebrities, including Elvis Presley.
JR’s youth focused on studying art and theater, then at age 19 he moved to Arizona, doing social work as a missionary with the Navajo, Hopi, Zuni, Southern Ute, and Jicarilla Apache tribes. Since his father's death in 1990, Ed Parker Jr. hasbeen instrumental in keeping the Kenpo legacy alive through teaching, lectures, seminars and other martial arts events. Currently Ed Jr. is a freelance illustrator and graphic artist, and is dedicating his talents to the drawing of a tribute to the legacy of his father and Kenpo karate.
