SORT BY Relevancy
Few Americans know that there was a moment in American history where an organic movement arose that challenged the corporate power structure that enslaved average Americans following the Civil War. The Populist movement developed during the 1880s among American farmers and grew to encompass a wide swath of Americans who demanded economic justice. The movement was a great influence in preparing Americans to demand that the government intervene to help them in the wake of the Great Depression.
We are now going through a depression that would dwarf that if the 30s were it not for the social safety net that Roosevelt began to build in an effort to not only save capitalism but to help millions of suffering Americans. The New Deal was the embodiment of much of the Square Deal that FDR's cousin Teddy fought for in a period that marked the rise of political power of Populism. Now the social safety net is being shredded, threatening to impoverish even more millions of Americans who have already been made poor by the bankster devastation of the economy in 2008 that was largely the result of the destruction of the Glass-Steagal Act by a Republican Congress and a Democratic President in 2003.
The banksters are still the enemy and the People must rise again to stop them, using lessons learned from the Populists applied with 21st Century tools. That is the topic of this interview with economic and political analyst Karl Eysenbach.

Karl Gruber is an amazing man who has ran 52 marathons in 52 weeks to raise money and awareness for leukemia research. He wrote and published a book chronicling his year of marathoning, Running For Their Lives. To this year, he has ran 78 marathons, and also completed 2 Half Iron Man triathlons. In addition, he has coached marathon training groups for the Arthiritis Foundation, worked in running specialty retail for 13 years, and now is a certified Law of Attraction Coach.
His motto is " ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary things!" He believes that he can motivate and inspire people to move toward a happy, active, healthier life, and having taken my own body and fitness to a stratosphere most people cannot even comprehend, he has the platform of integrity to stand on.
Gerrymandering has made a mockery of the democratic process throughout the US. Engineering districts to benefit one party or the other has been raised to a fine art, making most of them safe for incumbents. Current members of Congress have over a 90% chance of being re-elected. Those who call to "throw all the bums out" generally seem to feel that their bums are the exception to the rule, not making the connection to why Congress as a whole has a 9% approval rating.
With the stunning defeat of House Speaker Eric Cantor by a candidate who spent little over 5% of what he did, it is evident that unified action by disaffected voters can affect elections. Citizens of Virginia's District 7 have shown both conservatives and liberals that they do not have to settle for the choices of the establishment in the Duopoly parties. The key to turning this apparent anomoly into a trend will be to get self-identified liberals and conservatives to agree on issues that they can unite on and use them to elect candidates who will represent the People and not special interests.
Poltical analyst Karl Eysenbach joins us once again to talk about how some activists are organizing in Eugene, Oregon to challenge the lock that party flacks have on the Board of County Commissioners. Their success in the recent elections holds lessons for everyone who wants to end corporate control at all levels of government, end the gridlock in Washington and Take Back America for the People.

What do events in Ukraine have to do with the struggles of farmers in California and what do their struggles have to do with farmers in India and Latin America? The answer is clear only if you learn to think like the self-styled Masters of the Universe who believe it is their God-given right to rule over the rest of us.
On February 22, after failing to connect with scheduled guest Karl Eysenbach in Mexico, I explored with our listeners how some of the pieces of the puzzle fit together and why they all point to the clear need to build a united international front against fascism and war.

Aikido is the Way of Spirit Harmony in life. This martial art has transformed its roots as a fighting to survive art, jutsu, into its higher form of expression as a Do art. This means it has transcended its form and teachings to be of a more spiritual expression while still being a powerful form of self defense that is effective even in dealing with today's modern street fighting dangers.
It has the added benefit of opening its practitioners to insights about their ego self and their principled SELF. Aikido aligns beautifully within the Unity of Oneness and SELFGnosis that we address each week with our listeners.
