God In the Midst otherwise known as G.I.T.M or GITM Radio is an apostolic ministry whose charge is to help encourage, edify and equip the people of God who are called to Home Churches, Small Churches and Para Church ministries. Home or house Churches usually have 20 people or less, Small Churches are up to 100 adults and Para Church ministries could be Bible Studies, Prayer groups, men or women’s ministries that are not Churches in and of themselves but walk alongside the Church. We are featuring one Home, Small or Para Church ministry each month by interviewing them. We hope that as you hear them tell their personal testimonies, share their history and current activities, the Lord will confirm what He has placed on your heart or it may encourage you to step out boldly …it may even catapult you to that next dimension in the Lord & ministry. Our Host is Apostle Barbara Kizzie
Today, it is my utmost pleasure to be hosting one of the veterans in the Milwaukee music scene - Josh Becker. Some may recognize him from the hugely popular Cherry Pie, but Josh has extended out his resume to include other ventures. We will talk about his extensive background in the field, listen to his original music and hopefully discover his secret for longevity in this ever changing field. Do listen in!
Josh Duggar, son of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar from the popular reality show “19 Kids and Counting”, is in the midst of a media firestorm, resulting from several allegations of molestation against at least five younger girls in the early 2000s. These events occurred when the eldest son of the Duggar clan was 14. Reruns of the show were immediately pulled, however TLC is still deciding on the future of the program. When the patriarch finally went to the police to report the incidents, the report was given to a trooper, who subsequently refused to investigate. As a result, the statute of limitations ran out, making any prosecution against Josh impossible. The trooper himself has since been found guilty of charges related to child ography. Instead, the Duggars chose to have Josh take part in manual labor and counseling with an unlicensed Christian counselor. Jim Bob claims in the police report that he believed that the counseling program was affiliated with the police department. Since this story broke, high-profile right wing religious leaders have come to the defense of Josh and his parents, using language such as “regrettable” and “mistakes”, accusing the media of “sensationalizing” the story, making appeals to Jesus, and claiming that these incidents occurred before Josh was a Christian. Should Jim Bob and Michelle be held accountable for knowingly waiting a year before reporting the incidents to authorities? Did Josh do enough to make restitution for his crimes? What role, if any, did Christian privilege play into how this case was handled by the authorities?

Josh Gressel, PhD, is a clinical psychologist in private practice in the San Francisco Bay area and a student of Jewish mysticism. He is currently at work on a book about the role of projection in congregant-clergy relations.
Envy is a universal emotion, yet people are very reluctant to confess their envy of another. In Embracing Envy, Josh Gressel suggests it is our shame at admitting we feel inferior to another person that keeps envy so hidden. Through interviews with everyday people, reviews of mainstream psychological research, and lessons from wisdom literature, this book delves into how envy can be seen as meaningful and useful in our daily lives. www.joshgressel.com
