Mr. Jose Pimienta-Bey, ph.D. is the author of "Othello's Children of the New World" and he is currently a professor at Berea University, specializing in African & African American Studies.

Tune in as we welcome Dr. Jose Pimienta-Bey, esteemed author of Othello's Childen in the "New World" and Assistant Professor of General Studies and Director of African and African American Studies at Berea University in Kentucky.
Since 1985, he has been consistent and thorough in his research on the Moors and their impact upon the evolvement of European social and academic institutions.
One of his most noted essays, "Moorish Spain-Academic Source and Foundation for the Rise and Success of Western European Universities in the Middle Ages" appeared in Ivan Van Sertima's book , " The Golden Age of the Moor."

AT SAN JOSE STATE: In his second season with the Spartans... Signed a National Letter-of-Intent in March 2013... Challenging for playing time at a linebacker position.
2013 SEASON: Played in six games as a reserve linebacker and special teams player... Was credited with one tackle for the season which came in the Utah State game.
COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Played the 2012 season for Mount San Antonio College (Coach Bob Jasrab) which advanced to thesemifinal round of the state championship tournament... Second on the team with 65 tackles and was credited with 8.5 tackles for loss.
