THE HONEY COMB HIDEOUT with JOHNNY DAVIS

    in Radio

If you know Johnny Davis, you know he’s a good guy, now.  He wasn’t that way when he was young, and you know what?  No one probably could have told him he was going to have a show where he would be throwing down the jamms.  And the reason why I spelled it JAMMS and not JAMS, is because Johnny Graham Carcker (Cracker) Davis is popping them preferences, just for all of you who have learned to love this show.  THE HONEY COMB HIDEOUT is on the real, all kinds, all types, all styles, all and all we sho love to ball!  Johnny Davis also does his show after KINGS IN THE MORNING on Wednesdays, and it’s WILD!  I’m going to pretend I’m Chuck Berry and yell, GO JOHNNY GO!

Spiritually Speaking LIVE with Rev. Mark Sandlin

    in Spirituality

On tonight's episode we welcome Rev. Mark Sandlin, a pastor, blogger, speaker and writer from Greensboro, North Carolina. We will be discussing the ways in which the church is (or is not) responding to culture, and the how the church may need to change and grow in order to continue to speak truth to a new generation.

Mark is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA) from the South. He is a co-founder of The Christian Left. His blog, The God Article, was recently named as one of the “Top Ten Christian Blogs.” Mark received The Associated Church Press' Award of Excellence in 2012. His work has been published on "The Huffington Post," "Sojourners," "Time," "World Church Services," and even the "Richard Dawkins Foundation." He's been featured on PBS's "Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly" and NPR's "The Story with Dick Gordon." He’s married to an amazing Baptist minister and has two fabulous teenagers. More than anything (other than peace and justice), Mark wants to have a beverage in one hand and a book in the other as he and his wife look across the shores of Ocracoke, NC.

Every 2nd and 4th Monday at 8pm EST (7pm CST, etc.) Rev. Jen and Rebecca are joined by conversation changers in religion and culture. And we want you to join the conversation as well! To join the conversation, call us at 646-716-9397, or comment on our Facebook page here.

Johnny Strozier Keeping It Real, 03/21/2015

    in Politics Progressive

Johnny Strozier spent over 45 years in the Georgia prison system, from age 10 in 1968 until 2013. He joined us on "Human Rights Demand" to encourage others to keep the faith and stay out of prison. If released, do not return. Call (347)857-3293 at 9pmEST every Saturday night to speak with Johnny and his guests and to make a human rights demand to stop mass incarceration. America has a recidivism rate of 67.5 percent, indicating that released prisoners need encouragement and practical help to successfully reenter society. Youths are still going to jail at astronomical rates. Johnny and his guests offer advice and information that will redirect them.

Call Johnny directly at (678)516-4993 to arrange to have him speak to your church or community group. Thank you.

Johnny Strozier - Keeping It Real

    in Politics Progressive

"Johnny Strozier Keeping It Real" is live and on air right now and every Saturday at 9pm EST. Dave Koch would say that Johnny "re-invented himself." Johnny Strozier is keeping it real on "Human Rights Demand" channel. Call-in number (347)857-3293.  Strozier was a Georgia inmate for 46 years, from the age of 10 in 1968 until 2013. He kept doing things that lengthened his sentence until he said he had a conversion experience while behind bars. Now he encourages released inmates and youths to think right and act right so that things for them will go right.

Please gather your teens and let them be "scared straight." Call people who are reentering society, also, and tell them they should hear Johnny Strozier keeping it real! Despite ten years in
