Musical/Cultural Innovator, Guitar Legend John McLaughlin
Legendary guitarist (Mahavishnu Orchestra, Shakti, 4th Dimension, Miles Davis, Tony Williams), musical and cultural transcender, John McLaughlin’s accomplishments and influences span generaions.
Jeff Beck declared him “the best guitarist alive” in 2010. In 2003, McLaughlin ranked 49th in Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" and in the summer of 2007. Chick Corea told DownBeat Magazine that “…what John McLaughlin did with the electric guitar set the world on its ear. No one ever heard an electric guitar played like that before, and it certainly inspired me."
McLaughlin recently announced his first U.S. tour in three years, set for this June. The tour will begin June 11th in Durham, NC and will hit Asheville, DC, Bethlehem, Boston and a 3-night stand in New York City at the Blue Note before ending in Toronto on June 23rd.
McLaughlin and his 4th Dimension band will also make a special appearance at this year’s Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, Tennessee on June 14th.
After celebrating his 70th birthday year, McLaughlin upped-the-ante even further with greater fire, finesse and free-wheeling interplay on his latest studio recording, NOW HERE THIS (Abstract Logix), released last October with The 4th Dimension on board.
There is little doubt that McLaughlin's return to the electrified fusion he first innovated over 40 years ago in groups led by Miles Davis, Tony Williams - and, of course, with his own earth-shattering Mahavishnu Orchestra - is as electrifying and exhilarating as ever.

His love for professional and college sports set him on his career of writing autobiographies about the history of sports and some of the great athletes that stood above the rest.Greenburg started his career as an author because of his love for Football. He gained his knowledge of the athletes he writes about from his days doing historical research on football.]Greenburg was a Historian for the All-American Football Foundation.His first book published book “Captain Courageous: My True Story” had nothing to do with sports, but the main character was Martin Skylark, better known as Captain Courageous and his life at sea. Martin tells Greenburg about his true encounters with Pirates, the pirates we know today, his battles in sea ports across the world, hurricanes at sea and sea creatures he encountered like the Giant Squid.His second book brought him back to what got him started as an Author with “The Grand Old Man: Amos Alonzo Stagg”. This book depicts the amazing 7 decade career of this College Hall of Fame and College Football Pioneer Coach who pioneered the way College Football is played today and his teachings and policies transcended over into the NFL.
