Hi listeners and welcome to another edition of Weekdays with Murph. On the show today, we have the incredibly talented, super sweet Miss Audrey Callahan joining us to talk about her career, music, and anything else that she's working on that she can talk about. As usual, I have my lovely and talented co-host Emily with me, so let's do this thing!
Join RevKess & KaliSara to talk with Janet Callahan about her newest book, Parenting Pagan Tots, as well as her website Our Little Acorn, which discusses special needs parenting in Pagan families.
From her website: "Author and priestess Janet Callahan has had articles published in several anthologies and on various websites, as well as on her own blogs. She has had poetry published on the now defunct paganliving.com. She’s also published an eBook on being a Pagan Parent in the NICU, and has written a mini-course on planning for Pagan holidays.
Ms. Callahan has been Pagan for more than 15 years. She trained under a Dianic coven in the Detroit area and was initiated as a Mother priestess at Imbolc 2007. She is also currently a 2nd degree student with a more traditional Wiccan coven that focuses on family-based practice. She considers herself to be a Modern American Polytheist – a mixture of syncretistic polytheism, techno-Paganism, pop-culture magick, Wicca, and Unverified Personal Gnosis (UPG).
Additionally, Ms. Callahan is the former Program Director of SpiralScouts International, an alternative Pagan-based scouting organization for children ages 3-18, and a former board member of several other Detroit area Pagan organizations."
RevKess is pleased to get the opportunity to visit with Wendy Callahan, a Nebraskan author and steampunk novelist with an extensive background in Paganism and spirituality.
Note: The focus of the show went in a different direction at the request of Wendy. She wanted to talk about Pagan parenting, or more to the point, parenting as a Pagan. There is a difference. Tune in for the archive of the show to learn more about that. The topic of her writing came up towards the end of the show.
As her bio describes: "Wendy is a contemporary and steampunk fantasy author, co-author of "Steampunk for Simpletons," and a genealogical Nancy Drew in disguise. A college town New Englander turned one-horse town Nebraskan, she raises a cup of Dunkies to life among cornfields and coyotes. She is still pleasantly surprised that amber waves of grain exist, and has declared the Midwestern prairies "wicked cool."
"Her writing has been featured in “Witches & Pagans” (f.k.a. “newWitch”), “The Beltane Papers”, “If… A Journal of Spiritual Exploration” (f.k.a. “PagaNet News”), and many other publications."
RevKess first "met" Wendy over social networking a few years back and has devoured several of her fantasy novels and shared in conversations about writing. Adding her voice to the conversation, KaliSara will be talking parenting from a Pagan perspective with this multi-faceted guest.

Didgeridoo sound therapy is a holistic health and healing modality used for adjunct, supportive and primary treatment of a wide range of health and wellness issues.
- Joseph B. Carringer Didgeridoo Sound Therapist
Didgeridoo sound therapy also known as "didgeridoo harmonic therapy" is the application of sound generated by the didgeridoo over a client with the intention of producing healing results. The term harmonic references the broad range of harmonic frequencies that the didgeridoo is capable of producing. This practice is also commonly referred to as "didgerdioo sound healing", but in typical sound healing practices there is less attention paid to the keys and frequencies of the instruments and the focus leans heavily on the intention of the practice.
The didgeridoo helps people to achieve healing results through principles ultrasound therapy, energetic entrainment and meditation through the production of tones that range from the ultra low inaudible of 0hertz to the 1000hertz (2-20hertz is the same frequency of human brain waves - see table below). These harmonic waveforms resonate in a similar frequency to that of the Sanskirt Om.
It finally happened. The gods looked fondly upon our hosts and Mike got caught up on all the magic that is Draft Day the movie. This installment of the EL Moore Journal will feature commentary by Ernest L. Student government elections are next week on the West Los Angeles campus. The student body at West Los Angeles College as well as all of the LACCD college campuses need to get involved in student government and exercise their right to choose who we want to represent us in important issues that will have a direct impact on the quality of our college education.

Like many conflict resolution or ADR professionals who start as a mediator, it doesn’t take long before a mediator doing workplace cases in one organization begins to wonder about the organization’s culture, communication, or leadership skills. “If only the organization had better practices, the mediation (or coaching or training or group facilitation) wouldn’t be needed”, many have thought. When working within an organization, the conflict resolution professional may begin to see issues or trends across departments that may suggest systemic issues. Now what? Explore the opportunities and challenges to communicate organizational issues to senior leadership by considering: When is an issue systemic? How is it assessed? How is it communicated? What next? Who is responsible? Consider these issues from the perspectives of an internal conflict resolution consultant at a company and an organizational ombuds at an educational institution and academic medical center.
Rita Callahan has been a conflict resolution professional for 20 years offering services including mediation, facilitation, training, conflict coaching, consulting and ombudsing. She was an independent Conflict Resolution and Collaboration Consultant for 13 years, spent 6 years in the Conflict Resolution group at the New York City utility, and is now in the Ombuds Office at the University of California Davis. Rita has been active in the Association for Conflict Resolution at state and national levels and she has been a speaker at the Association for Conflict Resolution, the American Bar Association – Dispute Resolution Section, and the International Association of Facilitators annual conferences.
