The ANDREA SHEA KING Show - Michael Johns, Tea Party co-founder

In the days following Rick Santelli’s rant on CNBC, 12 or so conservative activists, including former President GHW Bush White House speechwriter Michael Johns, were invited to participate in a strategic organizing Tea Party conference call moderated by Nashville-based, Stanford-educated conservative Michael Patrick Leahy.  It was Leahy who earlier launched the now famous #tcot (Top Conservatives on Twitter) hashtag, where it remains today one of Twitter’s most commonly used hashtags and a key methodology for conservative communication.

In addition to his extensive private sector career, Michael also has served as a senior aide to former New Jersey Governor and 9/11 Commission Chairman Tom Kean (R-NJ), and as a senior United States Senate aide to U.S. Senator Olympia Snowe (R-ME). Michael began his career as a policy analyst at the globally-respected Heritage Foundation and as an editor of the foundation's scholarly magazine, Policy Review.

    in Politics Progressive

Esleezy Sickntierd says, "Please pause for a real cause people #‎FJCG2K15 Friday, May 1, 2015, at 9pmEST. Big thanks to MaryLovesJustice. Please call (818)572-2947."

University of Mich. Innocence Clinic reveals primary reasons for wrongful convictions as:
Eyewitness Misidentification ~ Eyewitness misidentification is the single greatest cause of wrongful convictions nationwide.
Junk Science ~ Many forensic testing methods have been applied with little or no scientific validation and inadequate assessments of their significance or reliability.
False Confessions ~ Innocent defendants make incriminating statements, deliver outright confessions, or plead guilty.
Government Misconduct ~ Government officials take steps to ensure that a defendant is convicted despite weak evidence or proof of innocence.
Lying Snitches ~ Particularly incentives for witnesses may not be disclosed to the jury, but statements may be the central evidence in convicting an innocent person.
Bad Lawyering ~ The failure of overworked lawyers to investigate, call witnesses, or prepare for trial has led to the conviction of innocent people.

The Race Trim MotorSports Hour #19

    in Sports

It’s another rare Friday where the guys are forced to keep the Frat House Sports Garage open late – just too much work to do before tomorrow’s Saturday night NASCAR racing at Richmond International Raceway.

First though we're looking back over last Sunday’s “Bristol Marathon” which saw 11 cautions, four rain delays, and a G-W-C finish. Matt Kenseth picked up his first checkered since 2013 while the “Pesky Boys” were wrecking each other and Denny Hamlin, with sudden mysterious neck pain, was replaced with wunderkind Erik Jones. What to make of it all? The “guys in the garage” are chatting it up.

We’ve got rare Saturday night racing at Richmond and we’ll have our own Brandon on the ground track-side. While drivers like Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin have a history here, could we see Jeff Gordon or Tony Stewart get their first win of the season?

There’s drag racing going on this weekend at the Royal Purple Raceway, and Frat House Mike will be updating NHRA in his report on activities in Houston.

Uncle Mark is going Over the Wall; Sidekick’s got his Fantasy picks; and the rest of the guys are jumping in with their Eat-My-Dust Picks!

    As it’s Friday night, we’ve got the beer . . . if you’re stopping by, you bring the pizza . . . and your comments to the Frat House Sports Garage . . . by giving a call to 347 - 826 - 9964!

Young Justice and why I love Side Characters

    in Writing

The original Young Justice comic came out of an interesting time in the 90's for DC comics where the original teen sidekicks had outgrown their roles and either accepted their own adult heroic identities or taken over for their mentors, Young Justice was the story of a new generation of teen heroes and heroines forming their own team. It was written by Peter David and at one point it was the only comic I was actively reading, today I discuss why.
