Join us as we welcome to our show motivational speaker and Life After Retirement Advocate Geraldine Jones.
She is a retired social worker who worked in social services for over 30 year providing advocacy services to neglected and abused youth. Geraldine states that she never really planned to retire but intended to transition from working with the county to working in private adoptions.
Before she was able to make that transition, health problems forced her to retire and reevaluate her life. She was diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy and realized she was losing her sight. She went into a depression and felt hopeless about her situation.
Through spiritual support from her family, church, retirement community (where she lives) and coaching, she was able to slowly recover. She began exploring hobbies and interests (she didn't have or make time for during her career). She learned how to swim, play the organ, and became a public speaker, all after the age of 65.
She is continuing to discover that there can be life after retirement despite medical, physical and other impairments that often follow the aging process. She speaks to seniors, those who are close to retirement, disabled, and youth about hope, change, and faith.
Journey with us as we learn how to prepare and transition through the aging process towards retirement.
Peter Calhoun- Beyond limits- How to remove our limitations.Tune in Thursday to hear Peter talk about:Soul Powers- What are they and how can they be used? The basic understanding of the SiddhisWhat are our false belief systems about who we are?Reconnection with the planet- One of the most important things we need to do to survive in this lifetime.Shift from Mind to heart, we need to make this shift for our liberation.Peter Calhoun and his partner, Astrid, may be among the very few people of our Western Culture who have awakened such a wide range of the Siddhis and are demonstrating a command over the elements of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water, the spiritual forces of Creation and the means by which our wondrous Creator Goddess personifies Herself. This path, which they both teach and demonstrate, is seen in both Vedic and shamanic traditions as an impeccable path to self realization and enlightenment.Nearly four decades ago, while serving as a priest in the Episcopal Church, Peter had a series of lucid visions that completely turned his world upside down. In these visions, he was shown that the vast majority of people on Earth were trapped in a prison of false belief systems that made up the consensus reality of our times. These false beliefs, which had no connection to Truth or Reality, had left all but a few of the most advanced individuals powerless and leading lives that were limited and inconsequential.Peter was told that in truth, each of us—as individual manifestations of an Infinite Creator—are beings without limitations of any kind!Website: http://www.petercalhoun.com/index.htm

"Surviving Retirement As a Couple"
Spending time with your spouse is a given in retirement, but how you approach it can be the difference between a good retirement or an anxious one. Miriam Goodman, the author of Too Much Togetherness (Bonneville Books), has interviewed hundreds of couples on the brink of retirement and found many are anxious and worried about being together all the time. This book helps readers prepare psychologically for challenges to their long term relationships as they subtly change from career to retirement and the next stage of their lives.
