In Eygpt and Kenya, in Indonesia and Pakistan, Christians are paying with their lives for their faith in Christ. it seems today that whenever there's a regime change in a Muslim country, Islamic militants take advantage of the resultant lawlessness to attack Christians with a fury not unlike the events of the First Century AD, as portrayed in the Book of Revelation. In those days, the first Christians were Jews, and the persecutor was the Synagogue: the establish Jewish authority in the ancient world. Since that time, the Church has more than quadrupled the wrongs done to her by those early Jews, in 1500 years of anti-Semitic persecutions, shamefully done in the name of Christ. Today the main persecutor of both Jew and Christian is militant Islam. This coming Thursday our theme is Jesus : " The Bright and Morning Star ", a title He used of Himself to give hope and encouragement to the Jewish - Christians of the First Century undergoing persecution by their own brethren, and how that word, given to them 2000 years ago, is a word of encouragement to Christians today under persecution. TODAY I REVIEW AN AUDIO THAT SOMEONE MADE ME AWARE OF. THIS AUDIO IS A JEW GIVING FULL DISCLOSURE OF JUST HOW THE WORLD WORKS!
HERE IS A LINK TO THE BOOK THAT IS MENTIONED THAT WAS WRITTEN IN THE 1930'S: http://christogenea.org/content/my-irrelevant-defence-being-meditations-inside-gaol-and-out-jewish-ritual-murder-arnold-s-le
This year the Jewish Sukkot (the Feast of Booths) began September 18th and ended a week later. Throughout Israel and in the backyards of synagogues and Jewish homes throughout the world, open-air shelters decked with palm leaves, vines and hanging fruits remind the Jewish People of their exodus from Egypt 3500 years ago. To most of the Church, it's all a quaint tradition but largely irrelevant. Yet to Saint Paul, it was a major theological concept that he used when he taught on our sojourn through this world, the resurrection of the body and life of the world to come. Unless Christians understand this " Jewish root " to thei pilgrimage and resurrection, they cannot fully understand the teachings of Paul in the Christian epistles, or their walk of faith. St. Paul did it with the Athenians on Mars Hill 2000 years ago in Acts chapter 17, and we need to follow his example. He communicated the gospel in clear and relevant language! A recent Foug Crew broadcast dealt with ' Christian - ese ", the kind of language born - again Christians use with one another, but that is misunderstood by the very people our Lord seeks to reach through us. '" Ten Tips " gives a powerful practical example of that when it comes to witnessing our faith to Jews. Our show's intent is to encourage Christians to share their faith in ways that the unsaved can understand, and especially with the Jewish People. Rev. Rick Anderson, raised Jewish and educated in Hebrew parochial schools, will demonstrate the right and wrong way to " contextualize " the gospel to Jewish friends. Listen " LIVE " on Thursday Night @ 9:30- 10:30 PM to Jewish Roots with host Pastor Rick Anderson in an open forum as he ministers - " Ten Tips Sharing Faith To Jewish Friends ". I remember my dad being very sad that day. I actually saw him tear up, and this was a man who I never saw cry. We were sitting in synagogue on Yom Kippur. Some of the men around him were standing up, and they stood up for the whole service which lasted most of the day. Nobody ate any food that day so some of the elderly men, standing up wasn't easy. My mom, seated with me, explained that the standees were especially sorrowful for some of the things they had done that year and they were asking for forgiveness. All during that week, people would say to each other " L' Shanah Tovah Tikateyvu! " " May your name be inscribed in the Book of Life ." And the hope was that God would give you another year to live - in health and prosperity . But it was just a hope, a nice thing to say. Nobody could know for sure. Tonight we discuss the lesson of this tradition, but not for Jews- for Christians: this matter of this " Book of " Life". What does the Bible say to the Church about this, and the Jewish concern about it on Yom Kippur? Tune in and take notes! Your host: Rev . Rick Anderson, each Thursday at 9:30 PM EST. Okay, say you're a born - again Christian, right? You have a Jewish friend or relative that you've been wanting to share the gospel with for some time, but you are not quite sure how to " break the ice ". Because, after all, you have known that person for awhile and you want to be sensitive, yet truthful. To the Jews, the Gospel means " something for others ", a belief system that's fine for gentiles, but absolutely taboo for them. For them, to believe that Jesus is the Savior or Messiah, is to destroy themselves as Jews, to deny one's heritage, to spit upon the memory of martyred ancestors who died for their right to believe differently. Chances are your Jewish friend is happy for you that you are a Christian. However, what he doesn't want is for you to try and make him one. Are there ways to share the Gospel effectively with your Jewish friend? This Thursday Night ( August 29th) @ 9:30 - 10:30 PM let a Jewish believer in Jesus explain how on the debut of " Jewish Roots " with host Pastor Rick Anderson. No place on Earth today sparks so much religious emotion, hope, speculation, or violence than the Jerusalem Temple site. Tonight's discussion deals with the biblical reasons why. Here in Jerusalem, at the crossroads of three faiths: Jewish, Christian and Islam sits the site that once held the ancient world in wonderment: the Temple! Built bysolomon, rebuilt by Zerubbabel, and then refurbished by Herod the Great, its gleaming while edifice beckoned ancient Jews and Gentiles to approach the only place on Earth where God communed with His people through a sacrificial system of innumerable animal victims, as the only way for people to escape the blame and penalty for their sins and recieve forgiveness. Tonight (Thursday Night) we discuss why this was so, as well as to discuss the accouterments and furnishing of that place, their meaning for Jews and Christians, and Scripture's " big picture " for why the Temple was destroyed and then rebuilt into " living stones..... built up as a spiritual house." As I was coming to faith in Christ many years ago; I didn't believe in the reliability of the Hebrew Scriptures ( which Christians call the " Old Testament '" ), and I certainly didn't believe in the reliability of the New. Raised in the Hebrew parochial school system, there was a day when our teacher explained that the stories in the Bible were allegorical and shouldn't be taken literally. For 9 and 10 year-olds taught to believe in the parting of the Red Sea and Adam and Eve, that came as quite a surprise. The sea didn't part ( we were told). They just knew where to walk when the tide was low. The plagues upon Egypt were naturally-occuring phenomena that Moses claimed were sent from God to punish the enemies of the Jew, much like the early Spanish missionaries with Columbus threatened the Indians with destruction of the sun because they knew of a coming eclipse. So I stopped believing in the integrity or reliability of the Old Testament, and I simply took for granted that the New Testament with its fanciful notions of resurrection and virgin birth was part of the same myth; the whole Christian "hysteria " of Jesus and the myth of the gospel.......until one day, when I saw with amazement the prophesies of Christ, and the truth of the gospels, not from the New testament, but from the Old; from the Hebrew Scriptures themselves. The Forget-Me-Not Hour takes a trip outside the U.S. for tonight's show. Jane welcomes genealogist András Koltai from Hungary. Andras will talk about researching Hungarian Jewish ancestry, as well as other groups in Hungary.
For a decade now, András Koltai has been researching Hungarian ancestry for clients mainly from the USA and Israel. Though he focuses on Jewish genealogy, he has had a number of cases where the family researched was non-Jewish. Apart from doing the regular work genealogists do, he has also been the researcher for five episodes of the tv-series "Who Do You Think You Are?"; in some of these episodes he was on screen, too.
