Dr Vernon Johnson Mwaanga is one of Zambia's renown diplomats and politicians, in October 1964 he became the nation's first diplomat as deputy high commisioner to London. Dr Mwaanga’s career spans over a number of decades holding several positions ranging from cabinet minister, diplomat, newspaper Editor in Chief, and national intelligence chief. He also had a few years in the business community as chairman of the Zambian subsidiary of the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) and the Zambia Industrial and Commercial Association (ZINCOM). Dr Mwaanga was a founding member of the Movement for Multi Party Democracy, after the party's victory in 1991 elections he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1991 to 1994. He was minister of Information from 1999 to 2002, after the 2006 elections he was reinstated as Minister of Information until his resignation in 2002.
Dr Mwaanga joins us to discuss and analyze the current political situation in the nation in light of the impending presidential election after the death of Zambia's fifth president Mr Micheal Chilufya Sata on January 20, 2015. What is the way forward for the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) of which he was founding member which has been embattled with divided leadership over a presidential candidate? He was recently confered with an honorary doctorate degree by the Copper Belt University and currently working as a political & business consultant.

Albuquerque, NM – The number one self-limiting belief on the planet is low self-esteem. If you don’t think you’re good enough or smart enough, tall or short enough, or you don’t think you fit the bill that society is looking for, it’s going to be very difficult to become successful.
Where did that story come from? What do we need to do to drop the story? How would you feel if you did?
In 1993, Dr. Jane Cundy wrote her first workshop entitled “Be Your Best Self Yet.” Today, Dr. Cundy is the founder of The Business Connection, which specializes in offering coaching and training services to private business organizations, government agencies, and individuals. As a coach, Dr. Cundy assists you in taking that next step, whether it’s personally, professionally or spiritually.
“My passion has always been to assist people in releasing the unwanted beliefs that no longer serve them and replace them with the inspiration to move forward and maximize their potential so they can become their best self yet.”
Much of Dr. Cundy’s work over the last few years, however, has been with the Native American tribes across the country. According to Dr. Cundy, the Native American community is much more about relationships than the traditional business world. Dr. Cundy says Native Americans want to learn how to teach each other; this desire is fundamental to their culture and it’s where their businesses are heading more and more.
"Native Americans wrote the book on spirituality a long time ago," says Dr. Cundy. "It is the only place where I can do a workshop and before we begin they all stand and offer a prayer. They’re very thankful for what they have and they know where it comes from. They bless the workshop, the instructor and pray they get the most out of what they’re doing."
Jane Elliott is an American former schoolteacher, recognized most prominently as an anti-racism activist and educator. She is also known as a feminist and LGBT activist. Elliott created the famous "blue-eyed/brown-eyed" exercise, first
done with third-grade school children in the 1960s, which later became the basis for her career in diversity training.
The exercise was conducted the day following Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination. The purpose of the exercise was
to try to teach her students the effects of being a minority. Her exercise, and the subsequent controversy, became the basis for the television documentaries Eye of the Storm (1970) and A Class Divided (1985). Elliott was also recipient of the National Mental Health Association Award for Excellence in Education and many other awards.
