    JAMES WILDER INTERVIEW

    in Entertainment

Powerful and versatile actor, James Wilder has been garnering awards and shining reviews in his new independent film, "3 Holes And a Smoking Gun," in which he portrays a duplicitous, washed-up screenwriter. He was named Best Lead Actor at the Red Dirt International Film Festival, Best Actor at the Winter Film Awards and Independent Spirit Award at the Garden State upcoming Film Festival. The film was also awarded the prestigious Grand Jury Prize at the Red Dirt International Film Festival and Best Screenplay honors at L.A.'s Downtown Film Festival.

James Wilder's indelible portrayals include an ambitious lawyer in the Emmy Award-winning drama "Equal Justice." co-starring Sarah Jessica Parker, and the charming but sleazy drug dealing seducer in the series "Melrose Place." The New York Times said "James Wilder, as Carl Isaacs, is a thoroughly malevolent character, one in whom evil, rather than insanity, prevails," regarding his portrayal of serial killer Carl Isaacs in the acclaimed Miramax film, "Murder One."

The multi-talented Wilder started off as a street performer, who took his juggling three chain saws act from San Francisco to New York and Europe. He performed at the legendary Moulin Rouge in his mother's native Paris at the age of 14. He studied at the famed NY Actors Studio . If that isn't enough, Mr Wilder also designs exclusive leather jackets and jewelry, refurbishes vintage furniture that he finds at auctions and flea markets, collects classic cars and commits to acting projects only when it inspires. “3 Holes And A Smoking Gun” is one such project. and is also a formidable architect and clothing and jewelry designer. It seems there is little this dashing actor cannot do.

    James Wilder: Award-Winning Actor

    in Movies

Actor James Wilder drops by to discuss his new film 3 Holes and a Smoking Gun, a fascinating thriller about screenplay mania. Wilder excels as a duplicitous, washed-up Hollywood screenwriter in this unusual indy gem. The Red Dirt International Film Festival named Wilder Best Lead Actor for his performance, and the film also won the prestigious Grand Jury Prize at the same festival as well as Best Screenplay honors at L.A.’s Downtown Film Festival and Best U.S. Narrative Film of 2014 at the Laughlin International Film Festival. Wilder portrayed an ambitious lawyer in TV’s Equal Justice, a drug-dealing seducer in “Melrose Place,” and a demonic serial killer in the acclaimed movie Murder One.

His other film and TV credits  include: Scorchers, Perfume, Mind Games, Man of the Year, Flypaper, Nevada and The Coriolis Effect. Bitten by the showbiz bug early, Wilder was performing his one-man show in Paris at the age of 14. Later, he studied at New York’s famous Actors Studio and appeared in Broadway’s Sugar Babies as well as with Ed Asner in the ABC Theater presentation Cracked Up. Wilder’s artistic interests go beyond the realm of acting. He is also a creative architect and designer.

Author James K Stewart The Bible

    in Christianity

James K Stewart author of the book The Bible According to Jim.

In 1976, Rev. Dr. James K. Stewart read the entire Bible for the first time and became fascinated with God’s relationship with creation. After an early life in construction, Dr. Stewart felt God’s calling and returned to school. At university he majored in ancient history and studied the Hebrew language. His exegetical work is taken directly from Biblical Hebrew and Greek. This ability has helped him understand how male bias has been promoted by the church in all ages.

This book has evolved from the frustration of listening to clergy preach on Old Testament stories and knowing their knowledge comes from commentaries written in the 19th century. Biblical Hebrew speaks clearly to those who listen. Proper nouns enrich the Biblical stories.

Women have a voice and are major contributors to scripture but not from all traditions. The book speaks of the two main traditions, which provide most of the information. The main contributor is Yahwist (male supremacy) and the other major contributor is Elohist (male and female equality). In the Yahwistic tradition, women are blamed for man’s sin.
