The RAZ Band have been toiling in the rock and roll vineyard for longer than you might think. Dedicated to the coolest place to ever grow up, the release of Madison Park  introduces The RAZ Band to a wider mainstream audience and is their breakout album. Band leader Michael Raz Rescigno says: “I'm excited to get our newest album,'Madison Park' out. It's a diverse collection of music from the last few years of our lives. With the tremendous production of band members Joey Molland and Joe Vitale, we are looking forward to sharing our music with the world.”

Hipnotics ... LA Psychedelic R&B Band

    in Rock Music

Tonight Pop Art Painter Jamie Roxx (www.JamieRoxx.us) welcomes the LA Based Psychedelic R&B Band, Hipnotics to the show!

Hipnotics are an up-and-coming, and I mean rocketing to the moon, experimental psychedelic rock band from Los Angeles.  Heavily influenced by the cosmic sounds of the late 60’s, the band consists of five music-savvy individuals: Lead Guitar/Vocalist - Matt Ernst, Bassist - Sean Conway, Drummer - Josh Apple, Guitarist/Keys - Zach “Binxy” Apple, and last but not least, Flautist/Saxophone - Zach “RoseGold” Rose - the newest addition to the band.
Most have known each other for over eight fruitful years. Together they’ve developed a unique style of vocal sampling and sound wave manipulation that combines their R&B, Rock n’ Roll and psychedelic influences.

The Kerri Edelman Show presents Rock Band Red Sun Rising

    in Rock Music

Rock music should be built to last. Since its genesis, the genre has been all about longevity not a “flavor of the month” or a “flash in the pan.” Whether you go back to the seventies or nineties pillars, the goal was to create something that can be lived with for a lifetime. It still can be that way. Akron, Ohio’s Red Sun Rising—Mike Protich [vocals/guitar], Ryan Williams [guitar], Tyler Valendza [guitar], Ricky Miller [bass/vocals], and Pat Gerasia [drums], proudly carry on that tradition with their full-length debut, Polyester Zeal [Razor & Tie]. “It’s not today’s rock, but it’s a new alternative,” declares singer and guitarist Mike Protich. Through tireless gigging, they built up an impressive local fan base, soon attracting the attention of multiple labels. Razor & Tie rushed to Akron in the Fall of 2014 and signed the band following a sold out hometown show.  The band headed to Los Angeles shortly after to cut Polyester Zeal with celebrated producer Bob Marlette [Black Sabbath, Shinedown, Seether]. They managed to siphon the pure, potent, powerful guitar chemistry, towering vocals, and muscular rhythms into the record’s 11 tracks with all of the “grit” intact. The first single “The Otherside” sees thick clean guitars clash with an unshakable refrain that’s as airy as it is anthemic. However, Polyester Zeal will be, and it firmly establishes Red Sun Rising’s place in rock. “The title sums it up,” concludes Mike. “Zeal is something you strive for, while Polyester is obtainable. The juxtaposition is, ‘What’s your obtainable dream?’ Ours is to tell stories through these songs. Hopefully, it makes you feel something. That’s what rock is supposed to do after all.” For more information, visit www.redsunrisingmusic.com

Turning Up The Gospel With Lady T, The Jones Family Singers and Carolyn Simms

    in Religion

The Jones Family Singers, consisting in part of five sisters, two brothers and their father, have been tearing up churches and festivals alike for over two decades. But they’ve never before made a studio album that displays the depth of their pure musical gifts quite like The Spirit Speaks, recorded to analog tape at Jim Eno’s Public Hi-Fi studio in Austin, TX and released on April 1st, 2014 via Arts+Labor. “Modern practitioners of a long musical tradition…infusing their joyful, reverent songs with elements of vintage soul and R&B” declares the Wall Street Journal. We will discuss two of their songs "LEANING" and "I AM".

Carolyn Simms is a Washington D.C. Metropolitan area based entrepreneur who has experienced success in various business ventures while simultaneously contributing to society in ways that exceed monetary value.  Cosmetology, psychology, nonprofit, real estate, and the United State Federal Government are some of the industries/areas in which she has entrepreneurial or employee experience.  Mother of 4, which she insists has been her “most important job”.  At present Carolyn continues to refine her skills in the previously mentioned areas while using her education and experiences in cosmetology, psychology, nonprofit, real estate, and the United States Federal Government to “pay forward” the success and enlightenment she has cultivated therein to help others.
