Indie band The Trap talks about their new release "Silence" and showcases their music on the Conversation Crossroad radio program's INDIEvening. The Trap developed from collaboration between Jonathan Hansard on lead guitar arranging songs written and sung by Kevin Click and developed quickly to include Jake Hansard on drums and Jason Graham on bass. Erin Melugin Davis joined to add her vocal harmonies and the band began to write more original material performing locally with headliners such as LA’s Nico Vega and Sacramento’s Exquisite Corps. http://conversationcrossroad.com/?p=6026

Ainjel Emme hails from the American Southwest. Her folky, orchestral pop is a favorite among roadtrippers, romantics, throwbacks and lonely hearts. Ainjel's first self-released solo album, Heartache Is Boring, garnered critical acclaim and got Ainjel some pretty cool gigs as a session musician and touring accompanist. Her sophomore album, Everyone Is Beautiful, was released January 11th on Spin Move Records and is now available on iTunes and Amazon. Join ConversationCrossroad radio show hosts Betty-Lynn White and Garrison Leykam for their INDIEvening interview with indie artist Kate Hope.
Kate's songwriting style tips her hat to greats such as Alison Krauss, Patty Griffin, Shawn Colvin, Emmylou Harris and the late Eva Cassidy. She continues to perform as a Classical vocal soloist and piano accompanist as well as teaching privately in CT and NY.
Kate teamed up with guitarist and arranger Mark Mollica in 2006 to rearrange several tracks from her previously unreleased 2004 solo album ("Letting Go" featuring Grammy Award Winning Producer and Musician Lloyd Maines from the Dixie Chicks) in addition to collaborating on many new songs. Kate’s focus is her passion on the creative process of songwriting (lyrics and melody) while Mark molds the songs and styles with his elegantly supportive guitar arrangements.
Their digitally released EP titled “Taking Flight” (March 17, 2010) is available on iTunes, CDBaby, Amazon.com and several other online distributors. The songs are autobiographical and as Kate calls it “the best way I know to move forward from life's losses and focus on love.” “Singing and songwriting serve as a means to persevere, to process and to move the elephants out of the room and into the open air. The best direction I've ever gotten about singing was from a wise man and dear friend - he simply said "Be sincere." http://conversationcrossroad.com/?p=3056
Rorie kelly is a small redheaded tornado of sound. First-time listeners often comment, “I can’t believe that voice came out of that body.” Rorie writes catchy, melodic rock songs that she plays with enough passion to break guitar strings--and go right on playing without batting an eye. The singer/songwriter has been compared to artists ranging from Fiona Apple to Janis Joplin to Liz Phair. She has opened for Alix Olsen and Jen Chapin, and was named one of Long Island’s “Top Ten Indie Artists You’ve Never Heard Of” by Pulse Magazine. You've heard of her on Conversation Crossroad's "INDIEvening" and SHE ROCKS!!!
