The boxing history podcast is back!
Once more Compubox operator and fight historian Aris Pina joins Patrick Connor of The Fight City to talk boxing and it's long, convoluted and wonderful history. This week on the show, Aris and Patrick discuss the happenings of fights that happened during or around the second week of October in history.
From Tommy Sullivan vs Abe Attell for the featherweight title in 1904; to Henry Armstrong vs Al Manfredo for the welterweight title in 1939; to Alexis Arguello's defense of a featherweight belt over Royal Kobayashi in 1975; and back to Sam Langford vs Sam McVey V (one of their 15 fights total) for the "negro" heavyweight title in 1912... There is no era that's off limits.

Thanks for tuning in!
After more than two years of carrying on this Mickey Mouse operation, we've decided to add a new feature to the show! Apart from our usual pre-fight and post-fight discussions, Aris Pina of Compubox will join Patrick Connor of The Fight City for some boxing history discussion.
In our inaugural episode, in honor of Deontay Wilder's upcoming defense of the WBC heavyweight belt against Johann Duhaupas, the fight history nerds discuss the list of the biggest punchers the heavyweight division has ever seen. While Wilder still has much to prove, his 34-0 record that includes 33 knockouts shouldn't be quickly dismissed.
Who are heavyweight's biggest punchers? Do any heavyweights of recent years compare to the hardest punchers ever? Would would reign supreme among them?

My name is Alex Giroux I am 18, I was born in Waterville, Maine but moved to Massachusetts after birth. There I grew up in Fitchburg, where I was surrounded by gangs, drugs, violence, etc. I myself got into doing dumb stuff when I was a kid because I went through a lot of stuff from being poor, to being in an drunk, drugged up abusive household (stepfather) to breaking the law even. I finally moved to Maine with my mother to escape from her boyfriend. From then on I've been writing music, recorded with my own laptop but never posted anything, finally I got the chance to get into a private studio in early 2015. Every time I step up in that booth I skyrocket my talent farther and farther. I have already been accepted to numerous Coast 2Coast competitions that I will be attending this summer and fall. I'm making my own team called Public Announcement. I have done a few parties but awaiting my first big show in 06/2015. I am currently ranked #6 in all music in the state of Maine on reverbnation.com. and #747 national. I'm a great artist and music is my die hard passion. And I will do anything for a spot to Promote/Showcase/sign a deal/and do a big venue or join a tour/and get sponsored for tour. Thank you for looking at my profile and I hope you enjoy my art and I hope to hear from you!!! Follow me on Facebook at https://www.Facebook.com/XandMusic or check out my reverbnation profile and fan me at https://www.reverbnation.com/Xander14
