This week we chat with Pro Boxer Said El Harrak (12-2-2, 7 KOs), who will be facing Chris Pearson (11-0, 9 KOs) on the Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. undercard on May 2nd. Born in London, El Harrak relocated to California as a young teenager and had an impressive amateur career. He turned pro in 2008 and won his first eight fights, leading to a ShoBox bout against fellow unbeaten Lanard Lane. The 5’11 El Harrak, who scaled in at 157 pounds for a bout two months prior to meeting Lane, took extreme measures to make 144 pounds for the opportunity. Unfortunately, he was unable to rehydrate and suffered a second round stoppage. After a three fight unbeaten streak, he lost a controversial split decision to contender Jesus Soto Karass on AztecaAmerica. Following the debatable setback, El Harrak scored two straight third round stoppages and battled to a draw against 17-2 Luis Grajeda. El Harrak will give us his thoughts on this huge opportunity and tell us about his boxing career in the second hour of the show. Tom, Tony and Rich also take our listeners through the week's combat sports news, results and events.
Greetings to all God's people thank you for tuning into another broadcast From Insanity to Sane Radio blessings to you. My guest today is no other than Ashley Brinton one of the hottest young talents in Hollywood. In just a year’s time, Brinton has launched an impressive acting career, landing high-profile roles in national television commercials, major motion pictures and music videos including her most recent for her new single "You'll Know" which features Disney Channel star Jake Short. This follows her premier single "Fairy Tale Ending" which was release in October 2014.
Ashley will make her big screen debut in the thriller Broken Vows, a psychological thriller starring Wes Bentley and Jaimie Alexander scheduled for release later this year, where she plays the role of Daisy, who is the flower girl and sister of the film’s bride-to-be. The South Florida native has also appeared in Animal Planet’s World of Dogs.
Ashley’s extraordinary vibrant stage presence, coupled with her lively “girl-next-door” personality have all enabled Brintonbecome one of the most sought after teens in the acting world. At a very young age, Ashley developed a love for acting. Inspired by her idol Natalie Portman, she played the role of Lucy in West Palm Beach’s prestigious BAK Middle School of the Arts’ production of You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. Among many lead roles in the Boca Raton Theater Company’s productions throughout her early childhood, she landed the role of Christine in the Boca Raton Children’s Theater production of Phantom of the Opera, where she garnered the audiences’ acclaim for her flawless vocals and performance. It was crystal clear to her parents, her peers and her various audiences….this girl had a gift, and it was time to begin her professional training.
Mike and Ben go into Overtime to set up the marquee matchups for the regions in the NCAA Tournament. The word Naga comes from the Cushitic word meaning snake, in India is the cobra. In the East Indian pantheon it is connected with the Serpent Spirit and the Dragon Spirit. It has a equivalency to the Burmese Nats, or god-serpents. In the Esoteric Tradition it is synonymous for Adepts, or Initiates. In India and Egypt, and even in Central and South America, the Naga stands for one who is wise. When we come upon the word in Buddhist writings. it's a person of nobility. It is a term used for unseen beings associated with water and fluid energy, and also with persons having powerful animal-like qualities or conversely, an impressive animal with human qualities. "Nagas [kLu] are a class of beings (often snake-like in form) that dwell in a variety of locations ranging from waterways and underground locations and also in unseen realms. These beings have their own perceptions and vary in their enlightened level as do humans and other beings.
Lots to talk about in this episode, with four - yep, four - interviewees.
Thomas D'Arcy's latest full-length, Fooled You Twice, dropped in early March and since, it's been getting a lot of positive attention. New Canadian Music, for example, said, "Pop craftsman Thomas D'Arcy is at his melodic and catchy best on second solo record Fooled You Twice." Mike chats with Thomas about the album and a lot more.
Luke Nicholson's Frantic City is his most poignant album to date. Having written the majority of material for this record while touring away from his new born daughter, one can hear the love, and maturity in both his lyrics and delivery. He's also launched an interesting new contest we'll chat about.
Mike also catches up with Toronto's Rebel Hero, a funk-rock trio with an impressive resume that's taking part in the April 4, 2015 edition of Generation Next Live at the Phoenix.
Finally, we speak with musician, engineer, producer, and studio owner Mike Saracino about his new initiative, The Globe Series, which takes him around the world to record on-the-rise musicians and spawn international collaborations.
As the league continues to get tougher many teams find themselves in wars they didn't know would come. The battle for supremecy in both conferences are coming down to little mistakes made by the opposition. The Panthers hold the slight edge with the #1 seed, but the Chargers are right on his trail, followed by the Texans and Broncos who all have 1 loss in this tough league. The Niners have been hot as of late and with impressive wins over the Cardinals, Rams and Seahawks, he's bounced back from 2 earlier season losses and looks like he;s ready to make a run. The wildcard is up for grabs in both conference, and the AFC West looks to get 3 in, but there are other teams looking to sneak in there as well. As we head down the stretch there are lost of games left, so keep fighting, keep focus, and play your best when its needed.
On this week's show, Mazza returns from suspension and Plan returns from wherever it is he had been. They are joined by Maverick and kick things off this week by discussing the latest happenings on Raw on another impressive night for Seth Rollins. They then move on to discuss there favourite hipster choice matches in WrestleMania history. These are the matches that are not particularly high profile and don't get much love within the IWC but are actually rather good. No spoilers but expect plenty of matches from the early years of the event.
For nearly two decades, blues/R&B/soul group Blowin’ Smoke has been one of the most in-demand, successful bands on the Southern California live music circuit. Front and center in Blowin’ Smoke is its creator, bandleader/bassist/vocalist, Larry “Fuzzy” Knight – whose impressive musical resume’ includes a decade-plus stint as bassist for one of the great SoCal bands to emerge from the psychedelic era of the Sixties, Spirit. Knight has also recently launched a new band project, Sky King, featuring some top-name musicians, all the while keeping Blowin’ Smoke going strong (in fact, Blowin’ Smoke has a “Post-Apocalyptic Pre-Christmas Concert/Dance Party” at Harvelle’s in Santa Monica on Saturday, December 22).
All Access Editor/Publisher Debra Stocker (AAM) recently sat down with Larry “Fuzzy” Knight to discuss his storied career and what musical adventures lay ahead. Here’s how the interview went.
AAM: When did you first start in the music business, and what was the first band and/or music project you were associated with?
LFK: If starting in the music business means the same as, when did I start performing as a ‘Professional Musician’? I began playing blues guitar in St. Louis (where I was born) at the age of 15 (around 1959-1960) I was lucky enough to hear the legends (before they were legends) on KATZ, Sweet 16 (Black) Radio that would broadcast ‘live’ from different nightclubs at night featuring bands such as Albert King, Ike Turner and the Kings of Rhythm, Little Milton, and Chuck Berry. I used to sneak into the clubs because I was underage and eventually started sitting in with the bands and soon I was offered a gig playing with Billy Gayles, who had recorded a hit record with Ike Turner called, “Tore Up”.
I am Guy Isabel and I am a spiritual medium, which means I get communications with highly evolved beings of light through a kind of automatic writing called mechanical. By this gift I have been granted with, I communicate regularly with my guardian angel, spiritual guides, the deads, souls being part of my family of souls in order to receive advices in life and messages of love to transmit to those left behind to relieve their pain, help them moving forward in their incarnations or understand their mission of life. It may also happen that in order to understand a current life, it is useful to obtain information about past lives. Despite a strong scientific background, Guy Isabel has always been driven by an intense inner life. The most impressive sign that was given to him by the other side occured during a night, in Fall, when he was unable to sleep. His eyes were wide open looking around in the darkness of his room when he suddenly noticed a tiny orange dot that was just above the foot of his bed which attracted his attention and suddenly saw it coming toward him following a slightly curved trajectory. He noticed that as the dot was getting closer to his face, it took a more disctinct shape. At a few inches of his face, the small point was in fact a beautiful dragonfly. The body of the dragonfly was orange and the four wings were blue. It looked like a dragonfly with a crystal body whose colors were radiant. The dragonfly stayed in front of him, with its wings flapping, long enough to make him realize that it could not come from elsewhere than the spiritual world
