Abraham says that most of we humans think, feel and say, "I want it BUT....then we argue for our limitations and explain why we don't have it! It only takes a short time of practicing, "I want it and I expect it," to change that old resistant habit. If every morning following awakening and choosing a HAPPY thought or put on Pharrell Williams "Happy" and sing along and clap and dance along, then meditate to stop thought, thereby releasing resistance, then make your list of "I want it and I expect it!" You then have a jumpstart on your day and you live an unconditional life...meaning you can be happy under any conditions. It's going to be a fun show today at 11, favorite listeners.Love, Linny
Whether it's a "sexy thug" like Jeremy Meeks to have them swinging from the ceiling, or a handsome/wholesome man of God to pray with them... exactly what qualities are most important to black women when seeking a husband remains up for debate. Please join me on "The Dedan Tolbert Show" LIVE tonight at 9:00pm EST, where we'll discuss "What do Black Women Want in a Man" and discuss the main reasons many women are unable to recognize a truly great man when they see one. SHOW NOTES: In our HELP! SITUATION SPOTLIGHT™ series, we shine the light on challenges that community members have shared. This episode is, “I want to be someone else.”
The title of this episode makes me sad. One of the fascinating and wonderful aspects of being alive is that we have characteristics that are uniquely ours. Most of us have unique DNA and even identical twins are rarely completely the same (http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/identical-twins-genes-are-not-identical/). All of us are unique in terms of the way we express ourselves (via our behavior). “Researchers have identified that every individual creates a unique pattern of physical behaviour including the speed at which they type, the way they move a mouse of the way they hold a phone. About 500 different behaviours are unique to every individual and, taken together, form what they call "eDNA", or electronically Defined Natural Attributes.” (http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/jul/18/how-your-electronic-dna-could-be-the-secure-login-of-the-future)
Thus, since we are “one of a kind” why would we want to be anyone else?
At the core of someone expressing that they want to be someone else is dissatisfaction with themselves combined with unrealistic fantasies of other people’s lives. In terms of dissatisfaction with ourselves, a few points.
1) “Perfection” does not exist.
Entropy is one of the reasons why as, “Entropy describes how nature -- including business operations -- is the movement from order to chaos.” (from http://yourbusiness.azcentral.com/entropy-business-26522.html)
You will experience moments of subjective perceptions of perfection (a “perfect date”, “perfect meal”, “perfect score”, etc
Well here we are for another week of information and entertainment. Hope youhad a great holiday.
This week we are talking about the greatest phrase that we can possibly use. I AM. Why? Well I think its time we start using it for ourselves and let it infuse our lives with all the power that it possess.
I know that I had announced that we would be having a guest today, but since I have been under the weather for the past few days, our guest has graciously adjusted her schedule and will be joining us for an extended show next week. So be sure and follow through with that one when we have Katrina Schenfield as our guest. Her story is amazing and quite inspiring.
So sit back, it is a short one today but we always get tons of information flowing through today and just go with the flow.
Most important, lets have some fun.
Love, laughter and light,
Tune in for a open discussion on challenges of giving up in life and staying a strong man in todays society

We have a softening society, one that seems more feminine and less firm and reliable with each passing day. We have bought into the importance of self-esteem, that happiness is essential, and that every man should get in touch with his inner child...or inner female. How's that workin'?
Not surprisingly, while the Bible challenges all men to be sensitive to women and children, it also STRONGLY admonishes them to be neither women nor children.
In this time when "feelings" seem to matter so much, the timeless truth is roles matter so much more. For those who want to see truth prosper and prevail, there is a clear edict, and that from the Most High: Play the Man.
