"Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HOBOT) and chronic disease" - with Dr. Zayd Ratansi, HBOT Specialist
Dr. Hayman welcomes HBOT Specialist Dr. Zayd Ratansi in discussing the health and wellness benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT). The basis to good health is increasing oxygenation and decreasing inflammation. Most all chronic disease states stem from inflammation. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy does just that - it supersaturates the plasma with oxygen! The Doctors will discuss how Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy works and what symptoms or disease processes it could potentially benefit. Want to be on my show? Xavier Figueroa. President at the Brain Health and Healing Foundation, received his doctoral degree in 2003 from the University of Washington’s Program in Neurobiology & Behavior in the Department of Environmental Health and Toxicology. His doctoral training was followed up by two post-doctoral fellowships within the Department of Bioengineering. His experience within academic research exposed him to the undercurrents of research politics, that silently shape how science is done and how results are interpreted. This experience made him aware of the need to maintain an open mind and champion deserving and fruitful ideas, such as the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for the treatment of neurological injuries. In November of 1990, John took the stage at an Indianapolis comedy club with the intention of getting comedy out of his system. "I figured they'd at least boo me off stage. Worst case scenario, they'd throw stuff at me."
As it turned out, there was no booing or throwing.
And since that fateful maiden voyage, John has made lots of people laugh from coast to coast. On stage, he's energetic and contagiously enthusiastic about numerous topics including: Electronic cigarettes, Snuggies, automatic flushing toilets and the proper age to stop chewing your shoe in church.
Born and raised in the heart of fly-over country, John is committed to "comedy that won't leave a filthy residue". There's nothing in his act that you wouldn't want to hear your children repeat. (In fact, if your children repeat anything he says, send him a video copy of it...he'd love to see it!)
"People didn't invent laughter. It was given to us by someone who knew we'd enjoy it. Every show, my goal is to hurt people. Seriously. I want people's jaws to ache. I want their sides to cramp up. I want them to experience dizziness from oxygen deprivation. When they are in pain, I've done my job."
And hundreds of audiences eagerly respond, "Bring on the pain.."
Vikings come in all shapes and sizes, evidently. Born with a healthy appetite for competition, Noora Kuusivuori served on both the national women's swimming and baseball teams in her native Finland before spinning heads stateside in figure competitions across the country and now in the fitness modeling industry. You can find her in magazines like Muscle & Fitness Hers, Oxygen, Oxygen Magazines Glutes Special, Planet Muscle, BFW, Fitness X and the list continues to grow.
Noora has a natural edge over her competitors, and it's not just her 5'10" frame or charming smile, although they don't hurt. It's her genuine passion for her sport and every little detail comprising it. Just ask her about nutrition and you'd think she invented the subject herself. And judging by her abs, she may as well have. They don't make TVs with that kind of definition. But make no mistake, it's all the product of hard work.
And when you truly love what you do, it's hard to fail. Since joining the women's figure circuit in 2010, Noora has hit goals such as becoming a finalist at the Arnold Amateur IFBB International Figure Championships, making the top 10 at the biggest National Physique Committee (NPC) show in history, the USA Figure Championships, placing 4th at a European IFBB show and winning several other shows. Her relentless dedication is evident in every muscle fiber in her body.
When she's not readying her abs for world domination, Noora, who has an MBA and speaks multiple languages, spends her time working on her company NK Medical Group and raising her son, Thor. The left over time she spends modeling on the set of fitness photo shoots. Lately, we have seen Noora in many fitness magazines nationwide and internationally every month as well as modeling for companies like Nike and Under Armour.
