In today’s society, when discussing the challenges surrounding black women achieving love, we often hear about the lack of educated, professional black men, the high number of homosexual black men and the large amount of black men incarcerated in this country…However, we rarely hear about the promiscuity, tattoos/piercings, emotional baggage, and overall lack of respectability that plays a huge role in many black women not being taken seriously by quality men seeking a wife. Often there is discussion and studies regarding black women being single, without a mate. Nobody ever tries to bring forth dialogue regarding ending the crisis. Now African American Women Matters have.
African American men are very liberal about dating outside his race. And is known to be a very staunch supporter of interracial love. I don't have anything against anyone that date outside their race.
I don't have a problem with black women that date outside of their race. I've heard that the black community isn't really supportive and somewhat ostracize black women that date out. It has been said that the black community is willing to embrace white women as an in-law but not a white male as an in-law. Is this true? If why?
Should the black community try to be more inclusive to black women involved in interracial relationships. Should African American women become vocal about ending the single black women crisis? So much 'ratchedness' would end if single black women could find a partner. Let's be civil and discuss this topic. If you think AAWM is wrong to bring this topic to the table explain why.
Why are there so many black single women in the Church today? Is it the Church that is keeping them from marriage, the men, or their personal standards being to high? All this and more, next, on the EYIC Radio Network airing this Thursday, 9/25/14 from 8pm to 10pm EST. The call in number is (949) 272-9514; press 1 to speak with host. Tonight we are talking to award winning dating expert Erin Tillman, the dating advice girl about Black women and how we behave when we date outside our race.. Just last week before Baltimore kicked of there was a video going around facebook alleging that black women are nicer to men who are not black. It's alleged they save the ghetto behaviour for their own. Is the media creating a story that is untrue? Is there some truth in the rumour or just more lies to keep us divided?.

Iris and Priya return for another candid conversation about women entering the wisdom years of 60! Join us for another engaging conversation about things we often do not really talk about in public, at least honestly and openly. Todays episode is about "happy to be single". So many of us women are single in our midlife. In a culture that is fixated on being in relationship as the only path to fulfillment for a woman, being single can be a real challenge. The big one is being alright with being single in the face of all of the negative conditioning that we have grown up with that tells us that we are not ok if we are not together with someone aka "Married". Once we get over that big hurdle and settle into ourselves then there are the questions of how to get our social, sexual and intimacy needs met. It takes a village of the sisterhood to break through the viels that keep us isolated, alone and in despair about our being single. Let's move through it together so that we can celebrate our lives as sovereign women loving oursleves and eachother!
It's natural to desire to be in a relationship. And if you beliee in "happily ever after" then that's what you desire. And yet a lot of women, particularly black women, aren't coupled up. But why? Is the so-called shortage of good black men real or a myth? Have many black women given up on finding a good brother? Would they rather be single than date and marry interracially? And is this a viable option for black women? Can a woman be single, celibate and happy?
"Some black women choose to be single rather than settle, but rarely is this discussed as a real explanation for why some black women are unmarried," writes Angela Stanley, a researcher at the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity at Ohio State University. (Black, Female & Single, NYTimes.com, 12/10/11)
We'll hear Dionne Renae's story as to why she is, at 34, Young, Single & Celibate in the City. That's Thursday, April 30, 6:30pm ET on She Struts Radio. Tune in.
