The farm bill, which imploded in the House of Representative last Thursday, has many people talking about the problem of hunger in the US...and, how to feed the hungry people. Unfortunately, this does not bring a focus on an even more serious "famine" that exists in our land. A famine of the Word of God ... a spiritual hunger.
What is spiritual hunger? A state arising from a failure to experience the presence and joy of God. Scripture describes such experiences, indicates one ultimate cause to be unbelief and points to ways in which this famine can be relieved.

Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to ME.' (Matthew 25:33-36)
