1 Thessalonians 4:1-18 (KJV) Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:...And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing. But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Did you know that you need a platform? If so, do you really know how to build your platform?
Your “platform” is what you know, what you have to say, your special experience and expertise combined with who knows you. Who would pay to read your book? Who is willing to purchase your products/ Who would pay just to hear you speak?
A restaurant owner with no customers is going broke. It’s because he doesn’t have a platform. If he did, he could send an email, mobile text message, tweet, Facebook message or post a video on YouTube and fill the restaurant in a couple of hours, every day, for the rest of the week and month and probably for years to come.
A talented, but struggling, author loves her book and really believes her message will change and positively impact the world. But she doesn’t have a platform. If she did – and even if it were small – she could sell 2,000 to 5,000 books in a couple of weeks – enough to be a NY Times Bestselling Author.
A consultant is struggling to trade dollars for hours. Again, no platform. If he had one, he would have a bunch of perspective clients on a waiting list. At that point, fees aren’t even an issue – people don’t even bat an eye when you quote 5 and 6 figure numbers for consulting or speaking.
