The Green Bay Packers face the Detriot Lions at Lambeau Field, on Sunday. Both teams are in of a win for different reasons. The Packers started the season 6-0 and have dropped back to back games. Both losses came at the hands of undefeated teams. However, they did not look like a playoff team in either game being dominated on both sides of the ball. It took a sideline scuffle to fire up the Packers after being down by 20 points to mount a comeback that fell a few yards short. By dropping two games in a row, they have fallen back to the pack and are now tied with the Minnesota Vikings for first place.
The Detroit Lions have started the season 1-7 and have dropped two games in a row. With Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson, Golden Tate, and the addition of Ameer Abdullah the offense was suppose to put up points. After 8 games they have only scored 149 points. San Francisco is the only team that has scored fewer points (126). Ndamukong Suh left for Miami, so the Lions tried to fill the void with Haloti Ngata. A defense that was once feared in the NFC North has become average at best. To make matters worse, the Detroit Lions have not won in Green Bay since December 15, 1991.
It has taken fourteen years for it to happen. The Houston Texans finally lost to the Miami Dolphins. The final score of 44-26 was no way indicative how Houston played. Matt Weston, and BFD talk about the mess this game was as well as Bill O'Brien's future as a NFL head coach, Arian Foster's possible last play in Houston, and missed flights. Additionally, they preview week eight against the Tennessee Titans, and give their picks.

Chris, Jeremy, and Ryan look back to the horror show that went down in southern California where the Detroit Lions choked away a magnificent lead on the San Diego Chargers. What went wrong? How miserable does Jeremy feel? What are the positives to take away from the game? Chris then proceeds to butcher some coordinator names and the trio moves on to discuss the Minnesota Vikings - how they fared in their own NFL Week 1 tilt and what to expect when the Lions go to Minneapolis on Monday.
Taylor "Gator" Phillips and Ed Smith break down the Tigers trading Ian Krol and Gabe Speier to the Atlanta Braves for Cameron Maybin, which means Rajai Davis is likely gone. We'd also like to note that the "Tigers sign Zach Greinke" article is a fake article, which means it didn't happen. The Tigers also hired Lloyd McClendon as the AAA Toledo Mud Hens manager.
We also touch on the Lions hiring Rod Wood as president, announcing their relocation on radio to 760 (am) WJR, and winning 18-13 over the Oakland Raiders at Ford Field, which pretty much ruins their chances at getting the first overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft, which still stands to be Ole Miss Rebels junior defensive end Robert Nkemdiche.
Moving over to college football, the #9 Michigan State Spartans upset the #3 Ohio State Buckeyes 17-14 at The Horseshoe, and the Michigan Wolverines pull away with a 28-16 win over the Penn State Nittany Lions at Happy Valley.
In college basketball, the Wolverines fell flat against the Xavier Musketeers 86-70 AT HOME, while the Michigan State Spartans blast through Arkansas Pine Bluff 92-46 and took care of the Eastern Michigan Eagles 89-65.
The Pistons beat the Timberwolves 96-86 at Target Center but give one away to the Washington Wizards 97-95 at the Palace of Auburn Hills. They also got destroyed by the Milwaukee Bucks 109-88 on the road.
The Red Wings hang on in regulation to beat the Los Angeles Kings 3-2 but give up another late third-period game-tying goal and still beat the St. Louis Blues 4-3 in overtime at Scottrade Center. Plus, former Red Wing Landon Ferraro was claimed off waivers by the Boston Bruins.
Pride Of Detroit finds itself in the midst of a win streak! We don't know what to do with ourselves. Let's talk...
(3:45): ...about the Oakland game! Where do we start in talking about a game of surprisingly competent football for the Lions? What's changing in our opinions of the season? How did the defense get it turned around? Can Caldwell actually win his way to keeping his job or is it just the fear of fans?
(22:40): ...about Philadelphia and Thanksgiving! Amazing what two wins can do for attitudes as the crew eyes a third straight Lions victory and defends Thanksgiving yet again. What's going on with the Eagles? Also, Jeremy really wants to see the Lions beat Mark Sanchez.
(32:20) ...about the NFL? We don't have a lot to talk about, so we end up talking about some league-wide news. Bad refereeing, Case Keenum, and Carolina Panthers social media.
(40:20) ...about reader questions! A big ol' fight breaks out over bean casserole and other Thanksgiving sides.
The Pistons come back to upset the defending Eastern Conference Champion Cleveland Cavaliers 104-99 at the Palace of Auburn Hills to avoid going under the .500 mark.
The Red Wings give one away to the Washington Capitals 2-1 in overtime at Joe Louis Arena. Jeff Blashill is at fault again.
The Tigers trade for closing pitcher Francisco Rodriguez and show interest in bringing back starting pitcher Doug Fister.
The #13 Michigan State Spartans Men's Basketball team upsets the #4 Kansas Jayhawks 79-73 in the State Farm Champions Classic.

A preview of Raiders/Lions from Ford Field.
The New York Jets in a Must win situation - did'nt. They're no longer in the AFC Wildcard Picture. The Texans have Some quality Defensive Players and one special wide reciever named DeAndre Hopkins.
The Jets lost more than a game, more than a playoff spot. They lost their star Defensive back Darrelle Revis to a concussion and Center Nick Mangold to a right hand injury that required stitches.
Each week the New York Jets have had a new and different problem costing them the game; excepting their Special Teams which have been a problem from the start of the season. This Team needs Offensive line help. A pass Rush and a sense of urgency.
Ryan Fitzpatrick and his injured companions had player execution problems again this week; Kenbrel Thompkins was inactive in favor of Devin Smith, who again could not deliver. Does Todd Bowles have what it takes to win situational Fooball and are he and Chan Gailey on the same page?
Let's talk Dolphin's. Yes, they're 6 -4 but that does'nt mean this Jets Team will beat them this Sunday.
Join Hosts Herb LaLane (@ThaKingofQueens) and James Boyd (@OneJetDrive) as we break it down and talk about our position in the AFC East and conference.
Butch Woolfolk was the New York Giants first round draft pick in 1982 after a standout college career with the Michigan Wolverines. Woolfolk is now a successful businessman, proud husband, father and grandfather. He’ll join the show to talk about the game today; his life away from the game and how he’s managed to build on the success he had on the field. And of course he’ll talk a little about the Houston Texans and share his thoughts on where they are and what they need to get to the next level.
We’ll also have some insights from the NBA. The game has changed since I covered my first game in 1986 (remember… I started in this business when I was 12!), but a lot of things have remained the same. We’ll talk about some of what made the NBA great back in the day and what makes it great today.
And we’ll take a took at what’s happening around college football. Is the University of Houston still undefeated? Just how good is this Cougars team? What about Prairie View and Texas Southern? The SWAC Championship is headed back to Houston so it seems fitting that we talk about the goings on in that league.
As always there is your part. What would you like to hear and/or talk about on this week’s show? Let me hear from you before hand or join us live. Whatever you decide it will be a fun hour of sports talk, infotainment and edutainment.
Tonight on Open Mike, I welcome guest Karen Vankat to talk about the shaky NFC East. The Eagles and Redskins both lost on Sunday, while Dallas won. Are the Giants still the team to beat in this division, or does Dallas have a shot? Also, we will talk about the Jets debacle against the Houtson Texans, and the impact on both teams. Check us out at 5:30.
