Hung Jury.... Would you date a Transsexual?

    in Lifestyle

    Lenore Lux

    Feb 5

    What is Transgender?

I think sometimes, about what it means to be transgender. I probe and probe for answers, because as the possibility for a new age of enlightenment and safety increases, the others want to know. I’ve come up with many answers, but I can hold to none. I don’t deserve to paint the definition of a culture with the limited experiences I’ve had. I don’t see myself in the transgender identified people allowed on television. I don’t see myself in the transgender identified people making news feeds and giving high profile interviews. And as my nation’s exposure to our culture increases, likely will their curiosity. Am I transgender? Do I have the right? I’ve heard doctors, psychiatrists, may refuse transgender patients access to hormone therapy based on how dedicated or convincing their portrayal of their identified gender. If you want to be a man or woman, you’ll have to look like the women and men on TV. If you want to be transgender, you’ll have to look like the trans identified people on TV. Every single one of us who has an active role as either participant or observer in our society is prey to the crisis of validity. Am I pretty enough? Am I strong enough? Am I brave enough? Mom enough? Dad enough? Competitive enough? Successful enough? Rich enough? Sexy enough? Pious enough? It never ends. We’re, as a nation of people, being crushed and compartmentalized by this ever present lens, looming over us, exploiting our weaknesses and fears so it may grow wider, and support itself as it follows us, seemingly forever into the future.

Radio Show: There's Nothing Sexy About Digestive Problems [Encore Presentation]

    in Health

Digestive problems are practically an epidemic in today’s world of fast food, antibiotics, and hormone-fed meat. Low energy, digestive troubles, brain fog, and sinus problems are just a few of the many health woes people suffer. Health starts and is maintained in the gut.

According to Hippocrates, ‘the father of medicine’, “All disease begins in the gut.”  Digestive disorders are more than just a nuisance. They are downright dangerous. Chronic gut issues can contribute to cancer, heart disease, diabetes, suicide, and a host of other serious conditions.

So how do you know if you have digestive issues that need attention?  If you’re bloated, gassy, or have gut pain, it’s obvious.

This week, Dr. Ritamarie reveals the less subtle symptoms of digestive issue and the root cause behind them. It's not what you think!

Hormone Harmony how to balance your hormones to Live Your Best Life

    in Health

    SHOW DESCRIPTION:

Millions of women are struggling with hormone imbalance, an epidemic that is disrupting countless lives during menopause and much earlier in life — a fact that is widely unrecognized. Join me this week as I chat with Dr. Alicia Stanton and she demystifies the subject of natural or bioidentical hormone therapy and debunks the myth that menopause is the primary trigger of midlife symptoms such as: constant fatigue, mood swings, weight gain, forgetfulness, hot flashes, sleep difficulties. You will find out the chief lifestyle triggers of hormonal havoc that are ignored in health care today; why six key hormones — insulin, cortisol, thyroid, estrogen, progesterone and testosterone — must be in balance; how to restore harmony by making practical lifestyle changes that cost little or nothing; and, when necessary, how to get medical help. While aimed mainly at women, this interview will also discuss men and their journey through andropause.

    GUEST BIO:

Dr. Alicia Stanton is one of the country’s leading experts on women’s health and hormone therapy. Dr. Stanton is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a Diplomate of the Board of Anti-Aging Medicine and an Advanced Fellow in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. She has a special interest in hormone balance and its effects on menopausal symptoms, weight gain, PMS, energy levels and stress. Her experience also translates well to help manage her male patients and their hormonal issues, including low testosterone, adrenal fatigue and low libido. Her practice is dedicated to anti-aging medicine and maintaining optimum health through nutrition, fitness and bioidentical hormone therapy. Dr. Stanton is the author of Hormone Harmony: How to Balance Insulin, Cortisol, Thyroid, Estrogen, Progesterone and Testosterone to Live Your Best Life

"Defeat should never be a source of discouragement, but rather a fresh stimulus." -- Robert South

We must build dikes of courage to hold back the flood of fear. - Martin Luther King, Jr.

There is a, constant, battle to not FOCUS on what you SEE!

David was no joke!  He wasn’t afraid of the lion and the bear as a young man and he SURE is ticked off now…these people took his wives.

David reached an end to his discouragement, got up and FOLLOWED GOD’S DIRECTIONS!

There’s a HUGE difference between staying down when you get knocked down and getting back up when you get knocked down.

"In America, failure is considered a disruption in progress," says Scott A. Sandage, a history professor at Carnegie Mellon University who teaches a course on success and failure. "Even as the understanding of economic challenges increases, there's an intensification of shame around failure."

Jesus Christ (0AD - 33 AD) Jesus stuck to the truth of his message, despite the consequences. On many ocassions, he had the opportunity to escape or change his message. But, he felt the right thing to do was to suffer outer humiliation and pain in order to leave a legacy of spiritual truth.

William Tyndale (1494 – 1536) - Translated Bible into English, which at the time was forbidden. For his controversial views he was later arrested and executed.
