On Wednesday November 11th we celebrate Veterans Day in the USA. It is a holiday to honor all who have served in the United States Military Services. We would like to thank each and every one of you for your service. Many times we don’t show the appreciation we should for them protecting and defending this country. We just casually mention it. Call in and let everyone know who you appreciate and what branch they are from.
Join CAN WE TALK FOR REAL co-hosts Teresa (Terry Boi) Jackson and Michelle E. Brown and special guests to salute and thank our veterans. Joining us also will be Anna Cogette who works as a clinical social worker in the Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program at the VA Hudson Valley in Montrose, NY. She works with vets who are struggling with substance use and often a co- occurring mental health disorder.
Call in to listen and with your special tributes (347)215-8985 then press "1" to talk 7:30PM CST/8:30PM EST
Wednesday, Veteran's Day, we will be honoring those who voluntarily sacrifice life and limb, to protect the freedoms under which we dwell. We will also be discussing the challenges and hardships facing this population, upon returning home from service/war, and their families. Experts will join us to discuss PTSD and other issues that affect our Vets and their families. We also want to hear from those who are still in active duty. Male and female, alike, please call in and talk to us about your experiences at (646) 668-2620, 7:00-9:00 p.m. est. We'll be waiting.
Veterans Day is a time to honor our nation's military men and women who have made tremendous sacrifices for our country. Oftentimes their service comes at an immeasurable cost. As vets resume their civilian lives, many struggle with joblessness, mental health issues and even homelessness.
Today, we have special guests, veterans John Spahr and Morgan Little who will share with you some of their experiences and provide invaluable resources.
There are many businesses and restaurants that want to do something, give something to our veterans today. There are many organizations that offer support. We will provide you with many tips and resources. Please find your own way to honor our nation's heroes. Look beyond today to make a difference in their lives. Express gratitude. Ask what you can do for them. Perform random acts of kindness. Let them know you care.
This week we will talk about medication and how quickly the VA is to give out a pill before addressing the problems.
Suicide, how does medication impact ones mental well-being? Is there a link?
Recently passed in the Senate, under Sec. 101 of Senate Bill 1203, named the 21st Century Veterans Benefits Delivery Act, "Ensure that Veterans receiving medical services under chapter 17 of title 38, United States Code, receive each immunization on the recommended adult immunization schedule at the time such immunization is indicated on that schedule." Over 90 vaccines are listed.
Encouraging and Inspirational Words of Wisdom, Spirit and Life. St. 6:63 Our Seventh Year Celebration 2008 ~ 2015 Continues....Lord please give me the wisdom to discern the different seasons of my life and teach me to embrace and acknowledge the new things that you have in store for me because I place my hope and my trust in you knowing that you are behind the scenes working out every detail in my life and in the lives of those connected to me. We Remember, Honor, Salute and Celebrate each and every Veteran on this Veterans Day. We understand that the rights and freedoms we have as Americans are defended each day by the dedicated service of our Armed Forces. Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy. November 11 is the day set aside to honor the millions of Americans who have served their country in the Armed Forces, especially those who risked their lives in defense of the United States. They Will Never Know ~ We Will Never Forget ~ 6 And you must think constantly about these commandments I am giving you today. 7 You must teach them to your children and talk about them when you are at home or out for a walk; at bedtime and the first thing in the morning. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (TLB) Lord Help me to remember that like the seasons of the year, Life brings continuous growth and changes. As long as I can remember that, I can look with expectancy to ALL that lies ahead. I can rest in the assurance that You are in control of the Seasons of My Life. My Mother would always say to us, Children “GOD IS IN CONTROL”

This episode will help those who dont really understand or know what Veterans Day is or what it truly stands for. We will help everyone understand where it originally came from and what it actually means. We will also help understand some of the more common misconceptions of Veterans Day.
Countless times we've heard of soldiers returning from overseas and being forgotten. Despite their sacrifices to protect the freedoms of this country, they are rarely appreciated. Even with veterans in political office, there is still not a lot being done to help returning soldiers get acclimated to being home again.
What can we do to help?
Also on tonight's show, does it matter how many kids you have if you can afford them? If you're a baller athlete or celebrity then does it matter that you have kids all over if you're paying support?
That's what we'll discuss tonight on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show! "No experts. Just opinions."
Scheduled for 75-90 mins.
Show No. 538

November is Military Family Appreciation Month

This annual proclamation marks the beginning of a month-long celebration of the Military Family in which the Department of Defense and the nation will honor the commitment and sacrifices made by the families of the nation's service members
"Our nation owes each day of security and freedom that we enjoy to the members of our Armed Forces and their families. Behind our brave service men and women, there are family members and loved ones who share in their sacrifice and provide unending support."- President Obama

Voices InJustice honoring our Veterans.... Sunday beginning at 7pm eastern time, please join in with Trish as we give praise to the warriors who protect us everyday. We depend on our Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, Freedom to seek happiness & live our daily life without threat; we would not enjoy any of this without the soldiers who defend us everyday.
I've been a military wife, moved half way around the world and gave birth to two children while tour in the U.K., it is difficult being a new parent when you have family around you, even more challenging when your spouse is a soldier getting stationed some place new every three or four years and trying to settle your children into a new place on a regular basis. When we left the U.K. and went to Netherlands, it was right at the Grenada battle and the Dutch Marines strip searched me & my babies as we entered the airport customs. It was a terrifying 12mons over there where we couldn't speak the language or communicate with our families. This is a sacrifice that millions of Military Families give to protect our daily freedom. Tonight we invite anyone who would like to praise their special soldier, share a story, share your tour time and the battles that have caused so many to suffer with injury, loss of life, and the haunting triggers of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Think of what they have been through and how long their tour in battle to make sure no harm comes to American soil.
Marines, Navy, Air Force, Army our respect for all you give to our country everyday. This show is in your honor. Thank you all for your service and your families for the sacrifice they suffer with you.
Our phones & chatroom will be open and we hope many will join this show. We are for entertainment and outreach support as part of Butterfly Dreams Abuse Recovery. Thank you for supporting us
Each November, we honor our heroes who fought so bravely for our freedom by celebrating Veteran’s Day. Although, it is a national holiday, veterans have yet to be truly honored in the form of medical care that they desperately need. The sad truth is, many of these brave men and women will die before this happens. Why is there such a delay providing coverage? In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to Mr. John J. Bury, a retired US Navy and Vietnam War Veteran who is also a veterans’ advocate. He is going to talk about two recent legislative Bills. HR-969 and S.681, The Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Agent Orange Act. Stay tuned!
