Hispanic Wake-Up Call - Can the Sleeping Giant Come to Life in Time?

    in Politics Conservative

Tonight, we talk about the Hispanic Vote and whether or not it's possible for the true Sleeping Giant, the Conservative Hispanic-non-voting citizens.  These are the people who go to church, pay their bills, raise their kids and stay out of trouble.  They mind their own business and leave politics to everyone else.  But today, at a time when President Obama is dismantling our country faster than we can blink an eye, can these voters be inspired to vote?  What will it take to wake them up?  What needs to happen before they realize the Democrats are leading the Hispanic community toward Socialism.  I'll share some ideas and insight for my Republican friends and hopefully take some calls on this subject.

Book Discussion: Josh Wickett and CREE on "The Rising Tide of Color"

    in Education

In Memorium of Dr. Frances Cress Welsiing:  March 18, 1935 - January 2, 2016

A Million-Midnight Salute to a black woman of towering intellect, dedication, intent, and stamina.

The uploading of this archived broadcast (from May 16, 2010)  was inspired by a Facebook post by Michael Moore acknowledging that he had received in the mail the book under discussion in this broadcast.  Mr. Moore said that, in her final  lecture,  Dr. Welsing  recommended reading the book discussed herein.

Mr. Wickett attended many of Dr. Welsing's lectures at the monthly Welsing Institute held at Howard University and filmed a few of them.   The host considers both Mr. Wickett and Dr. Welsing to have made major contributions toward the eventual solving of The Problem. Additionally, a caller, "Mark," inspired an evolution in Cree's framing of the role of genetics and/ or other forms of DNA in the practice of racism (white supremacy/anti-blackness).

Archived 2010 Interview of Dr. Frances Cress Welsing

    in Education

In memorium/remembrance of Dr. Frances Cress Welsing, I upoaded this January 16, 2010 interview she and I did. It has some odd [ wink emoticon ] technical glitches and disconnects that Dr. Welsing tolerated with grace that one could not expect from most other well known persons. With the help of Gus T. Renegade, the host of another counter-racist program, we completed the interview via 3-way phone connection. For that reason, I thought even the tech interference proved constructive in demonstrating an understanding of the system of racism/anti-blackness.

Tania Luna- Surprise: Embrace the Unpredictable and Engineer the Unexpected

    in Lifestyle

Surprise: Embrace the Unpredictable and Engineer the Unexpected by Tania  Luna

This on demand audio series is a part of the Executive Girlfriends Group Vignette Series. Chicke Fitzgerald interviews Tania Luna. The original live interview was 10/23/15.

Do you prefer when: A) Things go according to plan? or B) When the unexpected happens? Most of us pick control and predictability. Yet research reveals a counterintuitive truth: surprise is the key that unlocks growth, innovation, and connection. It is also the secret ingredient in our best memories.

Through colorful narratives and compelling scientific findings, authors Tania Luna and Dr. LeeAnn Renninger shine a light on the world's least understood and most intriguing emotion. They reveal how shifting our perception of surprise lets us thrive in the face of uncertainty.

As a young child, Tania Luna left her home in post-Chernobyl Ukraine to take asylum in the US. Tania Luna has an unusual title: she calls herself a “surprisologist.” The co-founder and CEO of Surprise Industries, Luna thinks deeply about how to delight, and how to help individuals and teams thrive in uncertain circumstances and develop the bonds needed to get through them.

Her websites are  https://surpriseindustries.com and http://lifelabsnewyork.com/

Road Map 4 Seeker's And Searcher's Road Map with Guests Ellynore Smith and Tina

    in Spirituality

ROAD MAP 4 SEEKER'S: At the age of 71 I was diagnosed with stage 3 bladder cancer. Three samples to 3 labs agreed.  At a local church I went to a prayer session 2 days before I had surgery again. The result after surgery was that the tumor was benign. I felt I had a new lease on life and my first thought was 'I have to write a book.'  Years ago we associated with a man who had a terrible experience as a child. Then I thought 'that is a heck of a way to begin a book.' That was the opening of my first novel SIGRIT. Now, 4 years later I have 5 published books with a 6th one at the publisher..   In my younger days I lived a normal life. Got married, had 2 children, but the unusual think I did was live on a sailboat with the family for many years. Now my husband is deceased and my children live far away. I live in the desert Southwest and enjoy my friends and neighbors. I consider them my family, also my 2 cats. email: ellybelly2008@gmail.com

SEARCHER'S ROAD MAP:After the release of her inspirational autobiography “Polished: filing away at life's truths” Tina was a guest speaker at St. Francis College, St. Joseph's College, and numerous high schools. She has been written up in The New York Daily News, US News and World Report, The Home Reporter, The World of Nails and other newspapers.  Tina was interviewed on “Entrepreneur Life” airing on cable television, http://youtu.be/443fk_BnaGY. Member of The Brooklyn (Kings County) Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Professional Women http://www.tinapanariello.com/
