Many community activists are calling for some kind of boycott during the holiday season in order to protest racial injustice. Some point to the successful Montgomery Bus Boycott as an example of how withdrawal of financial support can force necessary social change. But others say that the wrong message was sent with the efforts to desegregate buses in Montgomery: What should have happened is that African Americans should have used the money they saved to buy their own bus company. With that thought in mind, what would happened if communities hired their own private security company? Would that eliminate conflicts with racially biased city police officials? How much money would participating citizens have to contribute? Are there any existing companies that people trust to police their communities instead of the city police? Are enough communities organized into or neighborhood associations that are able to legally hire a security company to patrol their streets?
Hiring the right person for the right job, whether a contractor or an employee, is a task that all entrepreneurs will find themselves doing again and again. How do you know when to fire a contractor and when to hire an employee? That is our focus on this edition of, “The Strategist Radio LIVE."
Ok today I had an inspiring comment in one of my facebook Groups. Someone there said that they would not hire my company because I was "too Much" in their face? Not that I was interested in her business anyway. I said then and I still stand by the fact that we are more than happy with our B.C. & Alberta markets. We have little to no desire to obtain Ontario(Except Brampton). I find that in my business, 99% of the clients appreciate the blunt truth/honesty we give them about their cases. Just tonite I truthfully told one lad that he would not qualify for a permanent waiver. I also told him that he should come to the office and we will give him a few trade secret to use to get a longer waiver. All at no charge whatsoever(although he can pay for the cup of tea). We never tell people what they want to hear for whatever reason. We will diligently prepare their case with the perspective that it is our job to do the best job that can be done for their particular case. I compare it to if you hire a criminal defence lawyer.... Do you want to hire one that is a "nice guy" or do you want one that is a "hard charging pit bull" that will aggressively represent you in order for you to win! I think most will pick Rover aka Spike! Well we have the same mindset when we prepare your #usentrywaiver case. We will use whatever tools at our disposal to get you the best possible win. Hiring Team Players. So many job descriptions speak of hiring, "team players." Personally, I think the term is code for "people who take orders and don't think," but that's a conversation for another time.
On this show, I offer a way to actually discern whether someone is actually a team player.
Hiring staff doesn't have to be hard, difficult, painful, exhausting or take so long.
For most organizations, the systems you have in place do not facilitate hiring well-enough but does a great job of facilitating "applicant tracking."
