The following are general guidelines. Talk to your doctor about your target cholesterol levels. They may vary depending on your age, gender, health, and risk for certain health problems. Your doctor may recommend the following levels:
Total cholesterol: Lower than 170 mg/dL
LDL cholesterol: Lower than 110 mg/dL “Bad” cholesterol
HDL cholesterol: Higher than 40 mg/dL “Good” cholesterol
Triglycerides: Lower than 130 mg/dL
Why does cholesterol matter?
Your blood pressure.
Whether or not you have diabetes.
Your age, sex, and race.
Whether or not you smoke.
What affects cholesterol levels?
The foods you eat.
Who determines safety of new food ingredients?

Choose the activities according to age.

Before starting the activity, --> Family meeting. Assign the tasks according to age, skills, etc.
In the kitchen preparing a meal:
Washing the vegetables
Peeling the carrots, potatoes….
Cutting the vegetables
Making a salad…..
Baking a cake or a bread or cookies…..
Setting the table
Putting healthy water in a jug and on the table, etc. etc.
What does this teach us?
And, we spend the quality time together while learning so many different things and having fun.

Today’s topic: Recipes
original bread recipe:
4 cups flour
2 tsp salt
2 tsp Fleishman’s dry yeast
2 Tbl sugar
12 oz lukewarm liquid
3 cups flour
½ cup oats
½ cup rye flour
Third version: same as 2
6 scoops flax seed meal
13 Tbl water = 2/3 cup
3 cups bread flour
½ cup oats
1/2 cup coconut flour
½ cup ground up avocado seeds
Fifth version: divide into 4, roll out each piece, then sprinkle some cinnamon, brown sugar, raisins and a cut up fruit on flat piece, roll up, put back into pan but without the hook. Do this with all 4 pieces. Push it all down a bit, close lid, then set on 80 min bake.
Due to high blood pressure I have been leaving the salt out. We don’t need a preservative, as we cut the bread into slices when it’s cold and freeze it so it stays fresh. Put it in the toaster when ready to eat and it tastes like fresh out of the oven again!

What does it have to do with Get Healthy Now?
Why this sound? How does it make you feel?
Something or someone comes to an abrupt stop.
X-Rays, shoulder dislocated, stiff due to 15 hrs delay
ER Dr tried 3 x, put me out, shoulder in.
Why am I telling this story? Ways to get redirected after a pang. My reflections: glad it was not worse, glad I could get up, happy shoulder was put back in place, life goes on. After every fall or pang, get up and do, be and give your best again. No need to get depressed, no need to feel sorry for yourself, look at your life being fully balanced and bounce back. I chose my balance over imbalance just because I was in pain.
In every situation we get to chose the outcome as long as we live.
Start laughing as quickly as possible as it releases the good, healing endorphins. It also helps you balance quicker and the pain subsides faster.
OK, what comes after Pang? Get up!
Don’t let a fall hinder you from following your dream. Sometimes we need to fall forward to get stronger and better at what we are doing,

Fitness is a word of action. We look at it with a positive attitude and a healthy mind.
Do we need a Fitness Center? Other Options.
Fitness Center or Club - encouraged by other attendiing members. To find the Fitness Center or Club that suits you best, check them out first. Look through the Yellow Pages, or go online and search for Fitness Centers or Fitness Clubs within 5 miles from you, so you can make a commitment to go daily, it's not too far for you and you can say: "No more excuses".
Most Fitness Clubs have a 3 - 7 day pass to try out the Club for free. Take advantage of this, so you will then commit to exercise daily.
If you do now want to pay membership anywhere, there are other options for you. You can either work out at home with the TV exercise programs, or use a DVD, CD, or go for a brisk walk to raise your Heart Rate.
I personally love to go to Curves, less than 100 yards from where I live M - F, and weekends to LA Fitness with my husband, less than 3 miles from the house. Just recently I attended a wonderful 3-day Seminar, followed by a day of coaching and friving. Results: stiff, achy, breathless

Health Tips and Controversial Tips
Last week: Avocado Seed, a Super Food. Use: wash seed, dry for a few days, pulverize, put in smoothy, yogurt, home made bread. Remember the 13 Health Benefits!
I use Flax Seed Meal instad of eggs to bake my home made bread. 3 scoops = 1 egg.
7 foods you should NEVER refrigerate:
1. Bananas - cold temps disrupts ripening process.
2. Tomatoes - they lose their flavor and become mushy in cold temps.
3. Coffee - cold temps destroy the natural oils within the coffee bean, the aromatic scent cannot be activated.
4. Sweet Potatoes - in cold temps starches turn into sugars, texture and flavor are destroyed
5. Avocados - cold temps disrupt the ripening process.
6. Apples - cold temps make Apples lose their texture and flavor.
7. Onions - get soggy in cold temps, smell up refrigerator and other foods
Conclusion: Buy only as much food as you can eat before it goes bad. Best way to have it fresh at all times is to grow your own garden. Vertical, horizontal, in ground, hydroponic...
