Join Anna K. as she interviews Pamela Morgan...
Pamela is the owner of Flirting with Flavors and is highly regarded as a special event planner, culinary consultant, cookbook author, food & entertaining editor for Hamptons’s Cottages and Gardens and culinary instructor. She is a member of Les Dames D’Escoffier, a leadership organization headed by women noted for their success in the culinary profession. Her cookbook, Pamela Morgan’s FLAVORS, written with Michael McLaughlin (Viking) was published in May 1998.
Pamela grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas, a town that is about as far as one can imagine from the famous kitchens in which she came of age as a chef, studying with Alain Ducasse and Roger Verge. From 1984 to 2000, Morgan was President of Flavors Catering, a full-service New York catering firm specializing in custom-tailored events. Her clients included Martha Stewart Living, HBO and Chanel. In January 1994, Pamela opened her first retail store, FLAVORS CATERING AND CARRY-OUT in New York’s Flatiron District. The store was sold in 2000, but it was a fixture of the neighborhood, the place to come for healthy, delicious food.
Pamela now creates events and cooking parties for a varied clientele. She teaches her students how to spice up their relationships through the art of cooking. Each event is customized designed for each client’s needs and desires. Pamela has appeared on Fox and Friends, Housewives of New York for Bravo, and Kathie Lee and Hoda and has a weekly blog, www.flirtingwithflavors.com. She is married and lives in NYC with her husband.
In this story of perseverance in the face of adversity, Regina Calcaterra recounts her childhood in foster care and on the streets—and how she and her savvy crew of homeless siblings managed to survive years of homelessness, abandonment, and abuse.
Regina Calcaterra's emotionally powerful memoir reveals how she endured a series of foster homes and intermittent homelessness in the shadow of the Hamptons, and how she rose above her past while fighting to keep her brother and three sisters together.
Beautifully written and heartbreakingly honest, Etched in Sand is an unforgettable reminder that regardless of social status, the American dream is still within reach for those who have the desire and the determination to succeed.

Thinking Outside the Box.
That sums up Michele Alfano as architect, designer of interiors and furniture, entrepreneur, philanthropist and personality.
Daughter of a pioneer in the application of light and photonics technology, she was instilled to do more than what is expected, look at what's next: be passionate and inspired in all she does.
As an architect and interior designer including airport, retail, restaurant and residential, she's continually moved outside the box. Currently with an architectural firm outside her NY home, she serves Manhattan, Brooklyn, Deal and Lawrence residences.
One past work, the Iwataya Passage in Fukuoka Japan used multi-media, light and the feeling of water underground. Recognized by Architectural Record and Interior Magazine, it represents a career of significant awards including an AIA Honors Award.
As an entrepreneur, she's created ModDesignGuru.com which has earned almost every accolade available for a design site. More than a site, it's a "design tank". The mission: to investigate how innovators are changing the way we live our lives today and tomorrow from emerging artists to premier design voices in the fields of architecture, interior, product and fashion.
Inject love: anyone can learn from her outlook in creating an experience and weaving a story with purity, boldness, the unexpected, amusing and tactile.
She brings this same energy and excitement to philanthropic work. As one of its premier designers, we'll get the first look at last night's DIFFA picnic: The Design Industries Foundation for AIDS research. She can be seen in the Hamptons or Cologne promoting great charities and represented at important industry events.
There is so much to learn from architecture to outlook during this exciting 2 hours!
