Chaldeans Used to Punish Judah (Habakkuk 1:1-17)

    in Christianity

    TEXTS

The oracle which Habakkuk the prophet saw. How long, O Lord, will I call for help, And You will not hear? I cry out to You, “Violence!” Yet You do not save. Why do You make me see iniquity, And cause me to look on wickedness? Yes, destruction and violence are before me; Strife exists and contention arises. Therefore the law is ignored And justice is never upheld. For the wicked surround the righteous; Therefore justice comes out perverted. “Look among the nations! Observe! Be astonished! Wonder! Because I am doing something in your days— You would not believe if you were told.

“For behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans, That fierce and impetuous people Who march throughout the earth To seize dwelling places which are not theirs. “They are dreaded and feared; Their justice and authority originate with themselves. “Their horses are swifter than leopards And keener than wolves in the evening. Their horsemen come galloping, Their horsemen come from afar; They fly like an eagle swooping down to devour. “All of them come for violence. Their horde of faces moves forward.

They collect captives like sand. “They mock at kings And rulers are a laughing matter to them.

They laugh at every fortress And heap up rubble to capture it. “Then they will sweep through like the wind and pass on. But they will be held guilty, They whose strength is their god.” Are You not from everlasting, O Lord, my God, my Holy One? We will not die.

You, O Lord, have appointed them to judge; And You, O Rock, have established them to correct. Your eyes are too pure to approve evil, And You can not look on wickedness with favor. Why do You look with favor On those who deal treacherously? Why are You silent when the wicked swallow up Those more righteous than they? Why have You made men like the fish of the sea, Like creeping things without a ruler over them?

Habakkuk: A Message Of Times And Trust

    in The Bible

Hab 3:16  I heard, and my body trembled, My lips quivered at the voice; Rottenness entereth into my bones, and I tremble in my place; Because I must wait quietly for the day of trouble, For the coming up of the people that invadeth us.
Hab 3:17  For though the fig-tree shall not flourish, Neither shall fruit be in the vines; The labor of the olive shall fail, And the fields shall yield no food; The flock shall be cut off from the fold, And there shall be no herd in the stalls:
Hab 3:18  Yet I will rejoice in Jehovah, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
Hab 3:19  Jehovah, the Lord, is my strength; And he maketh my feet like hinds' feet, And will make me to walk upon my high places.

    in Christianity

The just shall live by faith and part of that living is praying by faith. Dust off that little book of Habakkuk and let's do a brief Bible Study of this neat little book. It is just after the book of Nahum and just before the book of Zephaniah.

Mwamba World Outreach School Of Ministry Presents The Power Of Vision Habakkuk 2

    in Radio

    HABAKKUK 2:2-3.   WRITE THE VISION.

vs.  2.  And the Lord answered me and said, Write the Vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

vs.  3.  For the Vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

WITHOUT A VISION THE PEOPLE PERISH.

UNTIL HIS WORD CAME THE WORD OF THE LORD TRIED JOSEPH:

    GENESIS: 41: 37-44

vs.  37.  And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharoah, and in the eyes of all his servants.

vs.  38.  And Pharoah said unto his servants,  Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is ?

vs.  39.  And Pharoah said unto Joseph,  For as much as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:

vs.  40.  Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled:  only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

vs.  41.  And Pharoah said unto Joseph, see,  I have set thee over all mthe land of Egypt.

vs.  42.  And Pharoah took off his ring from his hand, and put it on Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck.

vs.  43.  And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him,  Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.

Habakkuk Final Solution Final Faith Remnant Battle Lines Prophectic End of days

    in Religion

Habakkuk Final Solution Final Faith | Id# rb-040114-habakkuk-final-solution

What happens when the final solution is the only solution? It is the Final Solution for the Nation. It is also the Final Faith for the Believer, this is where the sins of the nation bring judgment and for the believer there is his bottom line faith!

Habakkuk lived in a world, where Judah was in moral depravity, Babylon [Chaldeans] were rising above the Assyrians and Egypt in power at that time. The world at this time was at war. The threats from the North, Babylon of an invasion was paramount and added to the internal turmoil in Judah

Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention.  Hab 1:3

For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not theirs.  Hab 1:6

They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves.  Hab 1:7

  • A nation turned from God part 2 God's Response to Habakkuk

    in The Bible

This week we wil look at God's response to Habakkuk's complaint of the evil abounding during his day, and see how it parallel's to our society centuries later. God is always in control so regardless of what it looks like we must trust him because he knows what is best. The ultimate goal is for people to know Christ as their personal savior, and for some; not all may come through, experiencing a level of adversity. We will see that though God is love, kind, patient and longsuffering He still has a standard in his Kingdom, and you can not take the world/societal mindsets into the kingdom.

I look forward to you joining me next week, and please send in your prayer request; let's stand together on Word of God for his will to manifest.
