As we get ready to close the year out on this show we can leave with out discussing some very important issues. Mass shootings an Gun Control. How can we prevent these horrible things from continuing to happening? If we gain control over guns what does that mean an how will it affect every day people who only use guns for protection? that an so much more on this these topics.
This week Chris and Rich will discuss how Christians should respond to school shootings. Liberals want to take away all the guns. Conservatives want everybody armed. Is the issue really about guns, or are the other forces at play? What should the Christian's answer be to such tragedy? Chris will also discuss his recent trip to the Sacramento Christian Organization of Parent Educators (SCOPE) Conference. He'll talk about what he learned and how Christians can be encouraged to fulfill the admonition to train up their children in the fear of the Lord. Chris and Rich will talk about recent events in the news from a Christian perspective and will take listener calls and questions. Join us this week 4 - 6 pm Pacific for a great show.
Mass shootings are being used as a prelude to gun control
Is our police state about to go one step further.. tyranny? What will happen once Americans are forced to give up their guns and left defenseless against both rurthless criminals & corrupt, trigger-happy officials, in a plummeting economy? Mass looting, home invasions, arrests, civil war, mass murder?
Following the shooting at Reynolds High School in Oregon this past week, many media outlets, including CNN, reported that there have been 74 school shootings in the past 18 months.
That's the time period since the December 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, where 20 children and six adults were shot to death.
Does media attention, some say sensationalizing, school violence contribute to the cause of such incidents?
Do gun laws have an effect on the violence in schools?
What part do parents play in the picture of violence at schools?
Obviously, there is always enough blame to pass around.
Jump "In the Pickle Barrel" this morning 7-8:30AM EST as we discuss these issues.

Tonight we will be addressing these events from all angles, together with special guests, we will be looking at how we manage the mentally ill, if this should involve the Second Amendment at all, if gun regulations would even help at this point, and lastly if its time to begin the process of disarming this country. Its been over a year and half since the Sandy Hook Elementary school massacre, has anything changed as the death toll rises?

Each year, more than 20,000 children and youth under age 20 are killed or injured by firearms in the United States.1 Thousands of young people are shot by peers, family members, or strangers, either intentionally or unintentionally. Thousands more use guns to attempt suicide, and these attempts prove successful more often than suicides attempted by other means.2 Countless other children and youth, though not injured or killed themselves, are survivors of gun violence, scarred by the effects of such violence in their homes, schools, or communities. Although children and youth are often victimized by gun violence, they also can become perpetrators, using guns to kill or maim others.
What is the answer to keeping guns out of the hands of our children?
Let's talk about it Wednesday night at 8pm on DPRADIOXL.
This week join Host Joseph Nizzari and Co-Host Ben Pam along with returning guest, Mark A. Thompson, Small Arms Instructor and 2nd Amendment Advocate as they discuss the increase of Mass Shootings and Gun Violence in America.
We will attempt to try and understand what could possibly bring these killers to the point of taking the lives of innocent people en masse, and explore what solutions may exist to prevent these senseless killings from happening in the future.
Therefore, if this a subject that you are concerned about, please tune in and join the discussion Saturday, December 15th, 2012, 7:00-10:00pm Eastern (4:00-7:00pm Pacific).
We hope to see and hear you there.

Dr. Roger A. Mitchell has made it his personal crusade to put an end to the senseless violence that consumes far too many sons and brothers, daughters and sisters, and that lays waste to entire communities. Named by Mayor Vincent Gray in Washington, DC as Chief Medical Examiner earlier this year after a stint as Regional Medical Examiner in New Jersey, Dr. Mitchell is breathing life into his unique profession of forensic pathology by sharing vital information with communities and invigorating a movement that had lost its focus. He talks to us about his heavy charge as Chief Medical Examiner, about his mission to save Black lives, and about his forthcoming memoir, The Price of Freedom: A Son's Journey.
