Blah! Blah! Blah! STOP Grumbling and Complaining

    in Self Help

Grumbling and Complaining Complaining is ADDICTIVE -
The more you DO IT; the more IT becomes a deep-rooted habit.  If you don’t believe it TAKE THE TEST!  Count how many times you complain in a day, rather it is from any of the following:
I don’t want to get up today vs. I am thankful for another day.
I don’t want to go to work today vs. I am thankful for a JOB.
I am so sick of being stuck in traffic vs. I am thankful for a car
I am so sick of this rain vs. I hope there is a rainbow to follow
Get the idea! A complaining spirit arrives from unfulfilled desires, which lead to envy and strife.  James: 4:1-3 what causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not that your passions are at war within you? You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not have because you ask wrongly to spend it on your OWN PASSIONS.  1 Peter 2:11 Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.

Negativity can be one's downfall. Always grumbling can become a habit for many and it is hard to fight off. However, as Christians we have a lot to be grateful for. It's important that we seek excellence in all we do, especially our attitude. We need to be an example so that others can see God's love through our attitude. Tune in Tuesday at 10 am as we fellowship together.

Sherri Wargin - With a Heart of Thanksgiving

    in Christianity

With A Heart of Thanksgiving.  What exactly is Thanksgiving? The Greek word for Thanksgiving is: eucharistia: thankfulness, giving of thanks; gratitude.  An attitude of gratitude!

A thankful heart is grateful.  A thankful heart is appreciative.  A thankful heart looks with a positive view of life. A thankful heart trusts God.  A thankful heart honors God.  A thankful heart sees God as Holy.

7 Reasons why God wants us to have a heart of Thanksgiving:

    1.    So your prayers are effective - Phil 4:6-7

    2.    Because the peace of God will guard your hearts and mind  - Phil 4:6-7

    3.    The God of peace will be with you  - Phil 4:8-9

    4.    This was the example of Jesus and Paul  - Phil 4:8-9

    5.    That you may be innocent, blameless, above reproach and the world will see Jesus in you  - Phil 2:14-15

    6.    That you won’t be judged yourself  - James 5:9

    7.    This is God’s will  - 1 Thess 5:18

Joshua and Caleb Try to Rally the Troops and You (Numbers 14)

    in Christianity

In all of Israel, which comes to over a million people, how many do you supposed had the faith to follow God's plan and enter the Promised Land? It has always boggled my mind that there were only TWO of all those people! Only Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh were full of faith in God's ability to do what He had promised. They gave a rousing speech that reminds me of the movie Braveheart, when William Wallace (Mel Gibson) said, "They may take our lives, but they can't take our FREEDOM!"  The difference is that Wallace's speech worked, but Joshua and Caleb's did not.

God hands out a punishment that the people do not like at all.  Then they try and attack in their own power and are utterly defeated.  Only faith works, not the efforts of our own human minds and hands.
