Graphic Policy Radio Talks Agent Carter with Guest Scott Kaufman

    in Pop Culture

This Monday Graphic Policy Radio is back for a brand new episode dedicated to Marvel's Agent Carter. The show will air LIVE at 10pm ET. Joining us is return guest Scott Kaufman, who you might know as SEK.

The winter/spring television season has begun, and debuting is Marvel's Agent Carter, filling the space until Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns. Years before Agent Coulson and his S.H.I.E.L.D. team swore to protect those who cannot protect themselves from threats they cannot conceive, there was Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell, "Marvel's Captain America: The First Avenger," "Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier") who pledged the same oath but lived in a different time when women weren't recognized as being as smart or as tough as their male counterparts.

With three episodes on the air, we'll talk about what we think so far.

Scott is the proprietor of the AV Club’s Internet Film School and an associate editor at The Raw Story. He also writes for Lawyers, Guns & Money, podcasts, and is an expert on Game of Thrones.

Graphic Policy Radio: Politics and Comics of the Multiverses

    in Pop Culture

It's Monday night and that means a brand new episode of Graphic Policy Radio! We're back talking comics. There's been a lot of brand new comics debuting over the past few weeks, and some very high-profile ones at that. We'll be discussing....

Angela: Asgard's Assassin - The character debuted in Spawn, but now is over at Marvel. After a stint in Guardians of the Galaxy, the character headlines her own series.
Bitch Planet - The most talked about comic of the past week. This comic shows how you can take on social and political issues within an entertaining story.
Deathlok - The classic character who was an integral part of last season's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. gets its own series.
Secret Six - We loved the pre-New 52 version of the series, but how does this new team and relaunch stack up?
    and more!

So join us this Monday and let us know your thoughts about these new series! You can call in or Tweet us your thoughts @graphicpolicy

Is investigative journalism a thing of the past?

    in Politics

CBS reporter, Sharyl Attkisson, talks about the shrinking role of investigative journalism in today’s media and the lengths that opponents will go to to discourage and obstruct legitimate reporting.

Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately?

There are always at least two sides to every story. Have you ever wondered how someone, who saw the same thing you did, walked away telling a vastly different story? Which version was correct? Which one was the REAL story? Actually, both are! It’s just a matter of perspective.

Joe takes the issues… especially the controversial issues (politics, prejudice, religion, illegal immigration)… and brings in people from different sides to share their viewpoint. This is definitely not a fluff piece. And while no one is attacked, the questions are hard-hitting.

But the conversation is always respectful and you’re sure to learn something new, even if you don’t agree!

If you’ve always wondered how the “other side” thinks and how they’ve arrived at their “stand”, then this is the show for you!

It’s not the right side, it’s not the wrong side, but the REAL side of the issues!
