Dark Beauty: dark gothic rock opera. Joy Collins: heartfelt, melodic country

    in Music

NOTE: THE Blogktalkradio.com server was corrupted and the podcast for this show will not play.  You can hear a clean copy at Music Friday: www.blogtalkradio.com/musicfriday.

Dark Beauty will tell the legend of the Dark Angel who fell from grace and now rules an evil tower in an unknown land.  Banished from heaven she is pulled down from grace above, falling deep into the woods of the dark primeval forest.  With a broken wing she descends through twisted cathedral-like branches of trees.  Dark Beauty, five supremely talented musicians who range from opera singer to a professor at the Manhattan School of Music have come together in a classically influenced, gothic alternative Progressive Rock band that will tell this tale in its concept album, “Fall From Grace”. This will be the first time anyone has ever heard it.

Joy Collins is a fourth generation vocalist who has seen a lot of life, both good and bad.  After hitting bottom, she has gone through a metamorphosis, like a caterpillar into a butterfly, shaking off addictions, hitting bottom and finding love again.  With a perfect pitch voice and lyrics and power than come from having lived  the stories sings,  she is ready to take the music world by storm.  Joy has worked with some of the most sought after players in Nashville and is now stepping out and a strong, emerging country musician. Her new album , It Ain’t Just Music, is what country is about – life as it comes at you and we are proud to have her.

The Mad Pride (psychedelia, gothic) with Diane Green

    in Music

Combining 60s psychedelia, folk noir, art rock, gothic post-punk and baroque pop, The Mad Pride has been described as haunting and ominous like Syd Barrett and David Bowie collaborating on a Tim Burton film soundtrack. Comparisons are often made to Radiohead, Grizzly Bear, Erik Satie, Opeth, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, baroque and minimalist / repetitive composers. It is the solo recording project of singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Rowan Galagher.

Ep 2: Lenormand with guest Jilly Hunter

    in Spirituality

Join us Thursday Dec 11 2014 7PM Eastern (Dec 12 9am Japanese Time) for Divination Radio with your hosts, Fiona Benjamin (Chinese-American Diviner) and Houngan Michael Lennon (Cartomancer).

This week we will be joined by Jilly Hunter, Lenormand extraordinaire! We will interview her for a portion of the show, followed by discussions on how to avoid some mistakes that new Lenormand readers make. Jilly will share some of her tips and tricks on easing the journey to reading Lenormand. Join us live to ask her questions in the chat room and call in live to join the queue to receive a free reading from the three of us!

Jilly Hunter is an empath and intuitive clairvoyant from NJ who has a feverish passion for divination in many forms. She began with Tarot (Thoth) a near decade ago and has continued to use it as a spiritual guide for its healing and transforming qualities. She frequently incorporates Lenormand, astrology, and numerology into her work, adding multilayered depth to her readings. Jilly takes satisfaction in helping clients recognize optimal solutions to their problems, as well as improve their sense of self-understanding and personal wisdom. A goal of hers is to create and publish an oracle or Tarot deck of her own one day. She loves anime, gothic lit, moon gazing, and blackberry merlot. You can keep up with her at Ohsanguinemoon on Tumblr for not so random occult musings.
