@Ms_Terree's Frugal #FoodieFinds: How to Save Money at Asian Markets

    in Cooking

Many of us would like to cook authentic Asian dishes at home, but sometimes the ingredients are hard to find. And if you haven't learned by now, the mainstream grocery stores are overcharging you double, sometimes triple what you would pay at the Asian markets. So on this episode, I'll be sharing some dishes for a simple, healthy menu that is inexpensive, flavorful, and fun for your guests. And I'll talk in depth about the ingredients: what to look for, what brands I recommend, and where to buy them.

I'll also be sharing the Rola Family Lumpia Recipe, also known as Filipino Spring Rolls, and walking you through step-by-step so you can make them at home. Over the years people have begged me for the recipe, and I'm sharing it with you on this show. Anyone who has tasted my family's lumpia, is never satisfied with egg rolls or spring rolls served in a restaurant ever again! And to go with it, you'll learn the Ilocano Filipino traditional dipping sauce, plus the common mainstream restaurant-style sauce. I'll also share other variations of egg rolls or spring rolls from Southeast Asia that you may not have tried before, and are equally simple, tasty, and addictive! Some of these options are even Gluten-Free!

There are even more brands of soy & fish sauce than there are brands of American breakfast cereals, so I'll give you the names of brands that I recommend, and places where you can find them.

And of course what food gathering is complete without some kind of dessert? So I will be sharing my recipes for Matcha Green Tea Blondies, other Asian desserts that include Gluten-Free options that your guest will love!

Author, Media Personality Tinnie Garlington stops by Good Deeds w/Dr. Renee Sund

    in Motivation

Born and raised in Atlanta GA Tinnie Garlington has always had a passion for teaching. As she grew older "life"

happened and she became a mother at the age of 14. Even though she traveled from school to school, living with

anyone who would take her in, she never gave up on learning. Through those experiences she began to write

in notebooks  about how she was feeling and in some cases make up stories so that she could escape her reality.

A high school  dropout with no one to turn to but God, she decided at the age of 20 to go back to school to

obtain her GED. The journey was still bumpy, but through her will to succeed, she graduated with honors.

Now the Atlanta born "Grady Baby" Tinnie C. Garlington embarked on her passion to motivate and encourage

individuals to see beyond their past. Don't Look Back, Look Forward was birthed from a dark place. Tinnie

discovered healing through writing and wrote poetry and plays, yet was too afraid to move forward on her dreams t

to use this material to teach and encourage others. Well, a close friend and her mother encouraged Tinnie to stop

being afraid of the greatness that was inside of her and act on what God has given her. A small yet powerful

book was pulled from her personal library and now the world can share in the thoughts hidden in her heart. Her

hopes is that her first book titled "Don't Look Back, Look Forward" will capture the  attention of those who are

looking for away forward and encourage them to never give up and allow the hard times to serve as a solid f

oundation for growth and a positive future.
