    Getting Unstuck

    in Lifestyle

How many times did we wake up saying, "Today is Day 1," only to pick up a drink later? Maybe we said, "I'm just a binge drinker. I can go weeks without a drink," but we still have a sneaking suspicion that something is wrong and can't quite figure out how to break the habit. Or we get some sober time - 30, 60, 90 days or more - and then think, "Surely I have figured out to moderate by now!" We cycle through dark thoughts of shame and defiance to willingness mixed with confusion. How can we get unstuck and into a sober life? Join us on this episode as the co-hosts of The Bubble Hour discuss the stages of change from around a table at our first ever in-person meeting. We talk about getting into action to move out of stuck thinking and into a life of recovery.

John Carver Show - Getting UNstuck

    in Self Help

The slogan of the British Special Forces:
    “Who Dares Wins.”

“There are two types of people: The ones who give you 50 reasons it can’t be done … and the ones who just do it.” – Hoda Kotb

African proverb: “Don’t look where you fell, look where you slipped.”

George Addair said, “Everything you’ve ever wanted is on the other side of fear.”

“If everything seems under control, you’re just not going fast enough.” – Mario Andretti

“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” – Muhammad Ali

Getting unstuck requires you and me to step out of what we've been “bathing in” for years and years.

In the ancient text it reads: "Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep gate a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches." This was a thermal, intermittent spring, such as are still to be found at Jerusalem, possessing rare curative properties in cases of disease. "The blind, the halt, the withered," gathered round it, seeking shelter in the porches while they were awaiting "the moving of the waters."

“I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool.”

The man only perceived ONE WAY of being made well!

8 Steps to Getting UNSTUCK in Life with Clergyman Mike Bethune

    in Self Help

A little less than a year ago, Mike's brother, Ron, committed suicide. It was a direct result of job loss and his wife leaving him shortly thereafter. He ended up stuck in life and just didn't know how to turn the corner. Depression set in, then despair, then the unthinkable. As a result, Michael has embarked upon a mission to help others get "unstuck" so that no other family has to experience what we went through with Ron.

Mike has had over 20 years of serving in a leadership capacity for several programs and ministries in the NY/ NJ area that help people that are dealing with various addictions, homelessness, identity crisis, youth that aged out of foster care (Covenant House), etc. He was also a young, lost, homeless military veteran at one point in his life.

While Mike mourned his brother's death, he began to write as a form of personal therapy and peace of mind. As a result of those writings a book has emerged, one that he truly believes is going to help change (and possibly save) many lives; especially those lives that are currently stuck:

8 Steps to Getting UNSTUCK in Life! (lessons my brother taught me, after he committed suicide)

From Chaos to Clarity: Getting Unstuck & Creating A Life You Love

    in Self Help

So many people in life are stuck on the “why”: Alex Bratty was a superstar in the public-opinion polling field. One of the youngest partners ever in a prestigious Washington research firm, her job was to listen to people and find out what they think and how they feel. She tuned into their emotional responses to get deeply in touch with their "whys" in life.

During those 15 years, as she was rising to the very top of her field, she wasn't listening to her own inner voice to discover her true emotions, to pay attention to her deepest desires and to understand why she was so miserably stuck in her own life!

Through tremendous trial and error, she finally found her way. And now she's giving other people the shortcut--through her remarkable book From Chaos to Clarity: Getting Unstuck & Creating a Life You Love--the essential quick-start guide to getting your life back on track.

A very talented Hip Hop Artist, “SnoodLovah” was voted Best Female Composer and Recording Artist for the year 2014 and 2015 by BMG (Brushwood Media Group). Her music is written with a positive tone to uplift all who listen. She is very passionate about equal rights, animal rights and against child abuse.
