Today, I welcome a warrior to my radio show. He is a fighter to find peace for himself and his family relative to the murder of his father. He is a strong willed survivor who has the wherewithall to withstand a long fight to find justice. A former military man, Paul was always searching to seek out the truth about Ronald Scharff's untimely death. Through the help of Holly Hager and Frank Cullotta, he was able to discover the details surrounding that unforgettable evening. We will discuss his diary of description and deception by McHenry men, his life after the book and also what awaits him in the future. A must attend event I say.
Host Cyrus Webb welcomes back author Christian Cipollini to #ConversationsLIVE to discuss what it has been like to have his previous books on in the GANGLAND MYSTERIES Series received so well and what led to the writing of MURDER INC: Mysteries of the Mob's Most Deadly Hit Squad.
Nothing like it before. Nothing like it since. Murder Inc. was the most unusual, brutal and extensive collection of characters the American underworld had ever produced. Culled primarily from Brooklyn's Brownsville and Ocean Hill sections, these official on-call killers of New York's larger crime Syndicate were a unified force of Jewish and Italian gangsters that treated murder as an art form for an entire decade.
They were called mobsters, thugs, hoods and racketeers, but at the very core... they were assassins. When gangland kingpins, such as Louis "Lepke" Buchalter, Charles "Lucky" Luciano and Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel, needed a contract fulfilled - the "Combination" boys would eagerly take to task the enforcement duties, which included methods ranging from gunfire to fire axes, incineration to icepicks.
These are the mysteries, the sordid stories, the character profiles, alluring and lesser known tales of the Mob's Most Deadly Hit Squad. Meet the killers, the victims, the bosses, the lovers, the deceivers and the gangbusters that made up a nationally-reaching ensemble cast rivaling anything organized crime or law enforcement had ever imagined to that point in time. Discover the nuances, the attitudes, the motivations, the ambitions and, thanks to little honor among thieves, the scathing revelations that lead to an inevitable downfall. So far in 2014 we (Black Americans) have seen it all. Black men beat, shot and killed by law enforcement that has already made the mental note all blacks are dangerous and not to be trusted; with our without a weapon. As American turns its focus to Ferguson, Mo, and the President Obama releases an official statement, it troubles us this kind of gangland killing still goes on in America and nobody seems to be able to fix what is happening. don't be fooled by Eric Holder's and the Justice Department talking about "an investigation." This is nothing more than a "white-wash" to settle the nerves of the mainstream and has nothing to do with justice for the marginalized black body.
Tune in Wednesday, (August 13) at 8:30 p.m. to The Ron and Don Show as we take you on a historical journey of the black body and how the evolution Jim Crow still murders black men and women sometimes without weapons.
We will also update you on International, National and Local (Minnesota) news.
The phone lines will be open.
On a sunny September morning in 1930, six men entered the Lincoln National Bank in Nebraska's capital city armed with revolvers and Thompson submachine guns. In eight minutes they emerged with more than 2.7 million dollars, the largest take of any bank heist in history.
A nationwide search for the bandits would lead Nebraska authorities through the rough, gangland streets of Chicago and East St. Louis, and deep into the heart of the Capone organization.
The Great Heist not only chronicles the search for the bandits and the trials that followed, but the incredible story of how they got the money back. THE GREAT HEIST-The Story of the Biggest Bank Robbery in History-Jeff McArthur
Charles Lucky Luciano is one of the most researched, discussed and dissected American mobsters of all time. His name has become synonymous with NY City's high drama gangland days of prohibition bootlegging, the information of the infamous five families, and controversy over his alleged Last Testament. However, there exists many fascinating and lurid tales and theories regarding Lucky's rise and fall from the mobs top spot. Some of these stories are known, but still incited debate, such as the origins of his nickname and menacing facial scars. Other legends are not so well known to the general public
With information culled from rare news articles, government documents and numerous books written on the subject, this book will give readers a chance to discover Luciano in a way that engages the mystery of his pop culture status, while encouraging further debate over the facts that fallacies that exist about his true role in the history of the American mafia structure.
